The A245 is an A-class highway from the B230 in Mountain View to Newfounded, passing through Lapis Bay.

History

The plan first appeared in November 2018 as A246 by Foote_Chicken, with a different routing which goes to Farwater. A246 was then approved in the February 2019 GSM, however, Foote_Chicken ditched the project in April 2019. In July 2019, a new plan of A245 with a similar route to A246 which starts from A30 to  XE37  Foobar, passing by Farwater and Lapis Bay, was planned by AlphaDS and was proposed in the August 2019 GSM. The proposal was denied and seeing that there was no way to pass through Farwater and Los Angeles, AlphaDS seeked a new route for the project. The current route was planned as a result and the proposal of A245 was approved in the November 2019 GSM after it has been reproposed. A small section of road was built in the following week, however AlphaDS wanted to get Lapis Bay to Senator before continuing the highway. The construction came to a halt for 1.5 years until Lapis Bay achieved Senator in late January 2021. Construction quickly resumed afterwards.

Route

Construction Updates

• A rest stop, Sunset Pass was founded along the A245 to the east of XE33 on January 31, 2021. It became the first ranked rest stop on the server.
• On March 17th 2021, the section from Lapis Bay to Newfounded was completed, and a bus route between Bawktown and Lapis Bay was created temporary until the Tri Waters Rail is complete.
• Exits 7 and 8 would be skipped for now until future developments occur. They are currently reserved.
• Exit 6 opened on May 12th 2021, along with B240.
• Harmony Pacific Bridge completed on May 18th 2021.
• A small reroute near Mountain View approved in May 2021 ISM, merging portions of the B230 and terminating at A30.
• On July 15th 2021, exit 4 is complete, connecting the A245 to the main MRT road network.

Potential extensions

An extension from Newfounded to East Mesa had been discussed, but no plans has been made yet. The extension would double the length of the road to ~20 km and could potentially merge with the B246 for some sections.
