Air Kanata is the national airline of Kanata. It has been apart of StarNet Alliance since August 11, 2022.
History (Lore)
The predecessor of Air Kanata, Trans-Kanata Air Lines (TKA), was created by federal legislation on 11 April 1937. The newly created Department of Transport under Minister John Curtis desired an airline under government control to link cities in Kanata to everywhere else in the MRT. Using $5 million in loans from Frumple taxes, two Soeing Needlemen-D123s were purchased from Kanata Government Airways and experienced airline executives from Sandstone Airr and Luz were brought in.
Passenger flights began on 1 September 1937, with an Needleman carrying two passengers and mail from Cornwall to Miu Wan, a $14.20 round trip, and, on 1 July 1938, TKA hired its first flight attendants. By January 1940, the airline had grown to about 579 employees.
By 1964, TKA had grown to become Kanata's national airline and, in 1964, Helen Redmond submitted a private member's bill to change the name of the airline from Trans-Kanata Airlines to Air Kanata. This bill failed but it was later resubmitted and passed, with the name change taking effect on 1 January 1965. George Husten, the then-Prime Minister of Kanata, flew on the first aircraft to bear the name and livery of Air Kanata when he departed for the Republic of Miu Wan for talks with then-President Har Bor the 852nd.

On August 26, 2022 Air Kanata switched to a new warp format, "ak-(airport code)-(gate)". Previously, it had used an AK(Flight number)(Airport code), but it was soon realized that this format would keep growing and it would've gotten to a point where the format couldn't fit on signs.
