Auburn Airport (IATA: ABN, ICAO: KABN) is an airport that serves Auburn. The airport is located in the Aviation district of Auburn, which forms the northernmost part of the town. It was constructed by Missa_Solemnis.
The airport is owned by the town of Auburn, but operated by Auburn Academy, which provides its faculty, staff, and students with benefits including exclusive lounge access.
The concept for Auburn Airport was conceived shortly after Auburn was promoted to Governor on December 5, 2022. A formal proposal was submitted on December 23, 2022, and was approved a day later.
Construction started the same day, with the tarmac, check-in area, and west concourse completed by the end of the day. The east concourse was structurally completed on December 25, 2022, with the upper level lounge awaiting furnishing. The control tower, Auburn Underground station, and road connection were also completed on the same day. The east concourse lounge was completed a day later, with additional taxiways added to the tarmac along with enhanced gate signage and several car parks.
Auburn Airport is fully located in Auburn, specifically in the Aviation district. The airport borders Lake 12 and is near Auburn Academy's North Campus along North Viola Avenue. The airport is the northernmost structure in Auburn.
Auburn Airport is located in plains and beach biomes.
The airport's branding reflects both its ownership and operator, with the logo featuring Auburn Academy's shield in the town's colour, purple. The IATA code also forms a part of the airport's branding, with the plane's path in the logo outlining the A, B, and N. "ABN" also appears during the vehicular approach to the airport in 3 metre letters.
Auburn Airport has one terminal with two concourses in an asymmetrical "U" shape. The west concourse is the shorter of the two concourses and contains 10 gates. The majority of its upper floor is one of the two Academy Lounges at the airport, which are exclusively for the faculty, staff, and students of Auburn Academy. The east concourse has 15 gates and an Academy Lounge on its upper floor. The check-in area and main airport entrance connect the two concourses. Passengers in the secure portion of the airport can pass between the two concourses over the roof of the central area.
The air traffic control tower and various hangars are north of the west concourse.
Auburn Airport has 18 check-in counters. As of July 2023, the check-in counters are occupied by the following airlines, listed from west to east:
