Big Brother was a competition game show based on the Dutch television series of the same name that follows a group of contestants, known as houseguests, who compete in challenges and create alliances. The houseguests joined a Discord and have respective diary rooms, which first began in the third season. The contestants competed for a grand prize, with competitions and evictions determining who won the show. This version of Big Brother was based on the United States version of the show.

Unlike other major serial game shows, there were no sessions and the game is held on one's own time.

The franchise was officially announced as concluded on November 22, 2020, as no future season was planned for the foreseeable future due to a lack of free time.

Format

Main series

The contestants, referred to as "houseguests", take part in several compulsory challenges that determine who will win luxuries and power in the house each "week", referring to an elimination cycle.

At the start of each week, the houseguests compete in the Head of Household (HoH) competition. The winner of the Head of Household competition selects two houseguests to be nominated for eviction. Each week, six houseguests are selected to compete in the Power of Veto (PoV) competition: the reigning Head of Household, their two nominees, and three houseguests selected by random draw. The winner of the Veto competition wins the right to either revoke the nomination of one of the nominated houseguests or leave them as is; if the Veto winner uses this power, the Head of Household must immediately nominate another houseguest for eviction. The Veto winner is also immune from being named as the replacement nominee. All houseguests vote to evict one of the two nominees, with the exception of the nominees and the Head of Household, who is only allowed to vote in the event of a tie, in which case they must do so publicly. This compulsory vote is conducted privately. The nominee with the majority of votes is evicted from the house, after which the cycle begins again.

Houseguests may voluntarily leave the game at any time and those who break the rules may be ejected from the game. The last nine evicted houseguests form the Big Brother jury and vote for the winner during the season finale.

Challenges occur separately, and each challenge has a time frame to be submitted. Voting is also an open time window, where votes are to be cast and are sent to MinecraftYoshi26 privately. Houseguests are allowed to change their vote until all votes are in. If a houseguest does not vote in the time frame and makes no contact with MinecraftYoshi26, they can possibly be ejected from the game. There is no house to be locked in. All social interactions happen through any means, and the game is a side-game to daily server goings.

Breaking promises and making alliances are allowed in this game. Typically, they are used to advance one game, and hurt others'.

Starting in Big Brother 3, there was a Discord created for announcements, diary rooms, the jury house, and general discussion.

Big Brother Mini

Big Brother Mini was the same style as the normal Big Brother, but was shorter and was paced faster.

Head of Household

The Head of Household competition was held at the beginning of each episode. Various competitions may have punished or reward contestants.

Power of Veto

The Power of Veto (also known as the Golden Power of Veto or simply Veto) allowed a nominated houseguest to remove a nominee from the block or remove themselves from the block if they were a nominee. If a nominee is changed, the HoH had to immediately nominate a replacement nominee. The Veto winner was exempt from being put up as a replacement nominee.
