Biwabik is a Mayor town in Ward 2 of the Zeta region, with a mayor of chiefbozx. Located on the northeastern shore of Lake 31, it is one of the most northern and most eastern towns on the server. Biwabik is a founding member of the Metropolitan North Association.

The town was founded on February 29, 2020, when the Zeta region opened to construction for the first time. Since then, the town has slowly built up a downtown core. There are plans to expand the town and turn it into a major hub for residential and industrial activity, with plenty of parks and other features to break up the grid of buildings.

As with all of Chief's towns, the street names are references - in this case, named streets are counties in Minnesota. Named streets are arranged alphabetically, west to east, to allow for easier navigation. Street numbers increase north to south.

Pronunciation

The canonical pronunciation of Biwabik is "bih-WAH-bick" or "buh-WAH-bick". The alternative pronunciation used by some Minnesotans, "BYE-wah-bick", is technically accepted as well but frowned upon.

Pronunciations such as "bee-way-bick", "bih-wah-buh-back", "bih-wap-buck", and "bee-wee-back" are incorrect.

Transport

Biwabik is served by multiple boat companies, including BoatNorth, Hummingbird Boat Lines, and Savannah Ferries. All inter-city ferries dock at Sibley Plaza, which is also home to bus and rail connections.

Within the city, metro and commuter rail services are operated by the Biwabik Transportation Commission (BTC). The metro's A Line is currently under construction and will be a circular route serving stations throughout downtown. Commuter rail services are currently not in operation, though will be built to serve medium-distance trips between Sibley Plaza and the rest of the city, including service to nearby cities like Kleinsburg and New Windsor.

The bottom level of Sibley Plaza is an inter-city warp rail concourse with 12 tracks. RailNorth uses tracks 7 and 8 for RailNorth One service to Tulipsburg; this service will be extended towards the airport once built. NewRail FLR will use Tracks 9 and 10 for a future nonstop service to Octarine.

As the city expands, the B280 will be built to connect the city to the MRT road network. This road, which will be signed "B280 - Blue Earth Boulevard" within the city, will be managed by RoadNorth. Inter-city buses will be able to use dedicated bus tunnels to access Sibley Plaza from Blue Earth Boulevard, just like how buses traveling on the A6 have direct access to Division Street Terminal in Schillerton.

All seaplane service for the city, along with some helicopter service, is handled through Zippel Bay (code BIZ) downtown. As the city grows and becomes eligible for full-scale airports, Medallion Field (code BIW) will handle additional helicopter traffic as well as standard planes.

Residences

Biwabik will eventually be a predominantly residential town, with a variety of housing options available. All housing options come pre-furnished, though residents may be able to decorate or rearrange items within their home depending on property rules.

Per Biwabik city ordinance, any prospective resident who develops a commercial property within the city limits of Biwabik is entitled to a residential unit free of charge. (Existing residents cannot develop commercial properties to get their purchase fees reimbursed.) Other residential units are available for purchase by MRT members at an affordable price.

Residences are available in the following forms:

Condominiums

The Carlyle Condominium Building in downtown Biwabik is considered some of the city's most premier real estate, with only four condos per floor and stunning views of downtown and Sibley Plaza on the higher floors. The building is the traditional starting location of the Apartment Chase minigame. Units here sell for $10 on floors 8 and higher, and $8 on floors 7 and lower. EliteNeon is the president of the building's homeowners association.

The Fraser Condominium Building is now under construction at the intersection of 3rd Street and Big Stone Street. Half-floor units will be available for $15 and one penthouse full-floor unit will be available for $25.
