BoatNorth is a boat company founded in 2020, operating under the Metropolitan North Association (MNA).
BoatNorth's current general manager is BernCow who operates under chiefbozx, the MNA Secretary of Transportation. It operates Commuter vessels, which serve the MNA internally, and Connector vessels, which connect to cities outside of the MNA.
History
On July 10, 2020, the Metropolitan North Association was formed and members began coming up with new ways to connect their towns. The Department of Transportation of the MNA was established on July 12, 2020, by a vote in the Senate of 8-0 in favor, making chiefbozx the Secretary of Transportation. He founded on that day TransNorth, the branded name for the Department, and RailNorth, the MPO-wide rail service. Seven days later, on July 16, 2020, the BoatNorth Act was passed by the Senate, instating the rules of the organization and making KyleFrb and BernCow the general managers.
On July 26, 2020, Lines 1 and 2 became operational, serving Oparia, Tweebuffel, Sansmore, New Mackinaw, Biwabik, Aquidneck Islands, Kleinsburg, and Tulipsburg, with service to East Mesa being put on hold until there was a canal built. Service to East Mesa began on September 28, 2020, after the construction of the canal.
On August 22, 2020, Line 3 became operational, serving Beachview, Oparia, Sansmore, Ottia Islands, and Tulipsburg. Chugsdy Island was added to that route on August 28, 2020, after construction of the port on the north side of the island was completed.

Standards
Line numbering
To determine the number of a new line, BoatNorth considers whether the line will be a Commuter or Connector Line. All Commuter Lines are numbered between 1 and 99. All Connector Lines are numbered between 101 and 199.
Line naming
All BoatNorth lines are named after animal predators. There is no particular system for naming the lines, but two lines will never have the same name.
Livery and boat design
All BoatNorth vessels use a boat by Moj1014, originally used by transnoord ferries before its functional services were absorbed into the MNA. The old BoatNorth livery was a refreshed version of the Vermilion Waterways design, with a dark blue and light blue exterior for Commuter and Connector boats respectively.
Awards
BoatNorth was a finalist in the 2020 MRT Transit Awards in the Best Boat Line category.
