Build MRT: The Challenge is a weekend-long competition to be held on March 20-22, 2015 and sponsored by the City of Whitechapel with money coming through from its airport gate fee program. Build:MRT is a challenge focusing on showcasing the best builder of the MRT server. The best builder should be innovative in many different part of the building process, from designing, creating, and using innovative designs to surpass the limitation put on by Minecraft's blocky nature.

We will be opening the Challenge with the Pool Stage. This is where there is an unlimited amount of people (all must register beforehand) come together to the Build area, and they will be assigned 6 plots (called "Showcases") of various themes and sizes. We have hidden values assigned to each Showcases, so a winner of a Showcase will receive the top value possible, with the next runner-up receiving one less of the top value, and so on and on until the values are at 0. This challenge is a 24 hour event limited to one day (defined as the time the Server restarts every night (5:00AM GMT March 20/12:00AM EST March 20/9:00PM PST March 19). You do not have to be on for 24 hours straight, but you do have limited time in completing this challenge.

The 6 players with the highest total points after the Showcase will then proceed to the Rapid-Fire Challenges. Those 6 players will compete in 4 Rapid-Fire builds, focusing on themes, utilization, size, and materials. The value system will again be applied. This time, however, the value is consistent across all rapid-fire challenges. The top player will recieve 6 points, the runner-up 5 points, and the third-place 4 points, and the fourth-place 3 points. The last two places will not recieve points.

At the end of the Rapid-Fire Challenges, we move to the Final Round, which will face 3 people against each other in one final 24 hour challenge. This challenge will be announced, and the player will have the chance to choose when his 24 hours starts.

On March 23, after all 24 Hour Challenges are completed, I will be announcing the winner in-game and on wiki, with the prize of $750 to the Winner. The runner-up will receive a prize of $250. Builds generated from this challenge will be relocated to cities and locations across the MRT server.

TL;DR

In Short words, the format will be the following:

Day 1: You will participate in a 24 hour challenge (starting at 5:00AM GMT March 20/12:00AM EST March 20/9:00PM PST March 19 -- the time the server resets). You will have 6 "showcases" to have the opporunity to build in and compete. They will have varied themes in each showcases. You will be graded based on your placement in all 6 showcases.

Day 2: After a break, I will be announcing the top 6 participants of the 24 Hour Challenge. Those will move onto a series of 4 rapid-fire builds, varying in scope and size.

Day 3: The Final Day will see a cut from 6 participants to 3 participants. Those 3 participant will be involved in a final 24-hour build-off.
