C&W is a Kanatian fast food franchise owned by the Hornet Company that primarily sells really good burgers.
History
In 1951, Edward Cornelius and George Wuster opened a burger chain in Cornelius' hometown Calgary. The duo sold C&W classics that are still here today, like the Burger Family (Aside from the Joe Mama burger, which was released in 2012) and MRT-famous Root Beer. They began to franchise C&W and locations were popping up all over the MRT. But things took a steep turn when Wuster left the chain to make Wuster's Burgers, which he started in his hometown of Dogwood. The latter chain got so popular and famous that Wuster's actually replaced all the C&Ws on the MRT, making Cornelius bankrupt. He closed all of the locations except the first (Near 6th Street CTrain station) and was left flipping burgers to one person every day. In 1987 Multi Corporation bought Wuster's, and the Hornet Company wanted some burger stuff too. So later in 2003, they bought the chain for a whopping 12 dollars! They refurnished the first location to be more clean and simple, and started opening new locations in Calgary, like the one near CrossIron Village. On May 30th, 2022 C&W opened its 14th location in Dogwood after the last location was converted to a Wuster's Burgers in 1972.
