Caelus Airlines is a major airline with flights across the New World and Old World. With a large and constantly expanding route network, Caelus, alongside sister airlines ikeda and CaelusLink, collectively aim to serve as many areas as possible on the MRT server through a wide range of aircraft sizes ranging from 2-seat Cessnas to 79-seat Boeing 747s, alongside a multitude of codeshare flights with partner airlines in the SkyTransit Alliance, of which Caelus is a founding member. Via its hubs at Horizon National Airport and Saint Roux - Charles de Gaulle International Airport, alongside a multitude of focus cities, Caelus' easily comprehended hub-and-spoke network is operated with spacious and comfortable aircraft built by autobus22, mikefishr, MonsieurKeks, and BaronThamesBank.

Among one of the largest airlines on the server, Caelus is also among the oldest if not the oldest as one of the few airlines that can trace it's roots back to an original airline in MRT International Airport. It has held many past identities, including Inverted Airlines, WorldJet, Air Peach, and Notalis.

History

Caelus Airlines was founded as Inverted Airlines on March 14, 2012 on a derpy creative server. The airline first made its presence on the MRT when the MRT International Airport went under construction in August 2012. Reserving a few gates, IVA had aircraft installed in the airport shortly after the concourses were finished. During the unification of Frontier Corporation and LSN Holdings in November 2013, Inverted Airlines was merged with its off-server counterpart, WorldJet Airways, and the resulting airline used WorldJet's branding, amenities, and aircraft designs.

Up until this point, none of these flights operated real flights within the MRT outside of roleplays. However, in 2014, amidst the rise of several new airlines, WorldJet rebranded as Caelus. At this point, Caelus operated few flights and mainly let gates sit unused in MRT International Airport and elsewhere. The airline expanded under the ownership of the Under_Score Corporation in late 2014, with access to Ender Wing Airlines gates in MRT International Airport and elsewhere; however, changes were incremental and insufficient for the time, with the airline only gaining a few flights.

In 2015, Caelus merged with Air Peach to form Notalis, a luxury airline attempting to combine the best of both companies. The name, pronounced "no-tuh-lis" but commonly mispronounced as "no-tah-lis", was an amalgamation of Greek words meaning "southern" and "premium", which were the primary "pillars" off which the Notalis brand was based. Notalis, at the request of KittyCat11231, initiated a merger with IntraAir in the summer of 2016. A multitude of efforts to rebuild, rehabilitate, and rebrand the airline, cleaning up after a year of mismanagement from Notalis' preoccupied management, were set into motion. Meanwhile, citing an imminent monopolization of the MRT's airline industry, a number of new airlines, most notably BART Airlines, arose. However, this merger ultimately failed when IntraAir withdrew. Alas, many of the reasons cited by IntraAir for cancelling the merger were true: Caelus and Air Peach had not been fully integrated; the Notalis network was messy and uncoordinated; and was being torn apart by the management of several different people. The cancelled merger, among other drama, plunged Notalis into a state of bad public relations and a bad public image. This was enough of a mess that Soleurs, our original founder, left to create his own airline.

Seeking to ride on the wave of momentum created by the attempted merger with IntraAir, reformation efforts continued. A successful but conditional bid to get Soleurs back onboard forced the admittedly unethical demotion of kiwirainbow to a functionally equivalent but ceremonially inferior position, leading him to resign. Furthermore, Soleurs, citing bad PR associated with the Notalis brand, successfully pushed for a rebrand of the airline resulting in a two-pronged strategy: ikeda for the old world, and Caelus for the new world. The two airlines would be operated as two parts of a coherent whole under a holding company, ICAG. _Smae was hired as an executive and immediately got to work on an attractive new livery and interiors while JohnNotTech unveiled new advertisements and a new brand image including a tweaked version of the old Caelus logo. It was decided that the reformed route network would be based out of hubs at Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Saint Roux, Akane-Ishuzu International Airport, and MRT International Airport.

In September 2016, CaelusLink was created to compete with other up-and-coming helicopter companies, and began to offer service to several Senator cities on the new world, as well as some cities on the old world. A generic heliport, currently in operation in Washingcube, was built as a way to quickly roll out service to cities upon approval. The airline continues to operate today.

ICAG's need for a unique destination on the new world prompted the development and rapid deployment of flights to Charles de Gaulle International Airport in Saint Roux. However, because of an excess of destinations on the new world to which Caelus Airlines was under contract to operate flights, Charles de Gaulle International Airport was quickly filled with flights, with most Caelus planes at the airport taking on multiple routes to serve as many destinations as possible. However, when Konawa, a rural city in the northwest area of the new world owned by ICAG and Frontier Group CEO Soleurs, was promoted to Governor in October 2016, the development of Horizon National Airport commenced. The airport became a second hub on the new world for Caelus Airlines, and took on seven of the roughly twenty flights pending and/or operating from Saint Roux, notably easing the burden on that airport.

Branding

Brand History

Caelus Airlines has held many past identities as the result of rebranding and consolidation, including Inverted Airlines, Inverted Buffalo Express, WorldJet Airways, Air Peach, and Notalis. Inverted Airlines and Inverted Buffalo Express were created by Soleurs in 2012. WorldJet was a rebrand of this airline that arose in 2013 under the eyes of JohnNotTech and Soleurs. Air Peach was an airline started by kiwirainbow and bestmate66 in 2014. Furthermore, the Caelus brand is actually a throwback to a rebrand to WorldJet before it merged with Air Peach to create Notalis, and ikeda, our old world sister airline, was originally started as a separate airline by Soleurs before merging with Notalis to create the modern-day Caelus.

Naming

The Caelus name is a reference to Roman mythology, in which Caelus is the god of the sky. Our logo, designed by JohnNotTech, sits alongside our new livery designed by _Smae. Elements of the airline's branding were modeled after TACA Airlines (our logo), Virgin Atlantic (our brand goal, a blend between "trendy" and "business-like" meant to attract a wide range of travelers), and Lufthansa (providing a dedicated terminal for First Class guests).

Fleet

Livery and Design

Designed by _Smae, Caelus' livery consists of several bands around the fuselage in alternating shades of blue, and a grid of blue stripes on the tail wing giving the illusion of motion. All aircraft in the Caelus fleet follow a few design guidelines:

  • Main Cabin seating is made with spruce wood. All other seating is made with dark oak.
  • All boarding doors must have a "Welcome Aboard" sign next to it; preferably on the right side, but this can be changed if necessary.
  • Light gray carpeting must be present in aisles and elsewhere as necessary.
  • Tray tables in the Main Cabin must be affixed to the seat in front if conditions allow. Elsewhere, tray tables may be affixed to the wall or to the center console.
  • Windows must be made with clear glass blocks; however, cockpit windows are made with black tinted glass.
  • Lavatories must be signed with a placard stating that tampering with smoke detectors is illegal.
  • Doors that close (rather than open) when subjected to a redstone signal must have a sign explaining this; this sign will typically say "Doors will not open from the outside when closed."

Cessna Citation V

Designed by MonsieurKeks, the Cessna Citation V comprises most of our flights to airports that are incapable of handing larger aircraft, or to airports at which we've been assigned smaller gates. Accomodating 3 passengers and a pilot, there is no onboard service available on this aircraft, and the only available class of service is Main Cabin due to space restrictions. However, those with a connecting flight in First Class or Business Class, in addition to Caelus Frequent Flyer Platinum and Gold members, are still offered Caelus Select check-in, security, boarding, and customs where possible, as well as complementary lounge access.

Caelus Airlines Cessna 1100

BTBplane

Designed by BaronThamesBank, the BTBplane is an airplane similar to the MD-80 that Caelus is proud to use for short and medium-haul flights alongside the E175. With seating for 4 Business Class (Matsu Class) and 12 Main Cabin (Ume Class) guests, the BTBplane has the comforts of a larger plane in a small, versatile body.

Caelus Airlines BTBplane

Boeing 737

Designed by mikefishr for members of the SkyTransit Alliance, the Embraer E175 is the backbone of our short and medium-haul network. With seating for 4 Business Class (Matsu Class) and 14 Main Cabin (Ume Class) guests, the aircraft is the smallest airplane in our fleet to carry our full new livery designed by _Smae.

Caelus Airlines Boeing 737

Boeing 747-8

Designed by mikefishr for members of the SkyTransit Alliance, the Boeing 747-8 is the largest aircraft in our fleet, designed for high-volume long haul flights. The aircraft, iconic for it's small second floor, comfortably accomodates 2 First Class (Sakura Class), 12 Business Class (Matsu Class), 10 Main Cabin Select (Magnolia Class), and 55 Main Cabin (Ume Class) guests with a total of 79 seats.

Ground Service

The legendary service offered to every {{{1}}} passenger begins on the ground.

Check-In

A Caelus Airlines check-in

We recommend that you arrive at the airport at least ninety minutes prior to your flight's scheduled departure. If you arrive after this time, we'll accommodate you to the best of our ability. When you book your flight, you will be notified as to whether you're eligible for Caelus Select; if you are not eligible, please use the main check-in line and desks. You can also check in on your phone using the ICAG app or website beginning 24 hours prior to arrival, and use your phone or compatible smartwatch as a boarding pass. Furthermore, all passengers are permitted to use {{{2}}} or SkyTransit Alliance self check-in kiosks where available.

Regardless of the process used to check-in, the check-in process consists of a confirmation of your itinerary; the optional selection of any add-ons including checked baggage, seat selection if not already completed, upgrading to a higher class of service (subject to availability), and lounge access; tagging and dropping off any checked bags; and the printing of your boarding pass. Guests who check in online or through a kiosk can use a kiosk to print baggage tags and use the check-in counter labelled "Bag Drop" to drop off their bags before proceeding to security.

Gates

[[File:CaelusAirlines_{{{3}}}.png|thumb|500px|A gate for an {{{1}}} flight]]

ikeda gates are typically marked by our in-game logo, and include a multitude of information to help you identify the correct flight, including the flight number, destination, and current status. If you lose your boarding pass, would like to change or upgrade your seat assignment, or modify your reservation, please see the gate agent for assistance. Announcements will be made throughout the terminal if your gate is changed, or if your flight is cancelled or delayed. Most gates offer seating and WiFi service for your use while you wait for your flight. At select airports, other amenities may be offered, including computers, food, and restaurant-style dining.

Most aircraft are boarded in groups. Typically, families and uniformed military personnel are boarded first, followed by Caelus Select guests (see the Premium Service Eligibility section) on the red carpet, then all other guests on the blue carpet. As boarding groups change depending on the aircraft size and other conditions, more information regarding the boarding process will be announced and posted at the gate for your specific flight.

In-Flight Service

Caelus has four classes of service on its fleet: First Class, Business Class, Main Cabin Select, and Main Cabin.

First Class

Caelus Airlines First Class

Available only on long-haul international aircraft, First Class is Caelus' highest and most luxurious class of service. Each private suite contains a reclining seat upholstered with Poltrona Frau leather, sliding doors, and a dedicated bed with a Duxiana mattress. Along with our attentive cabin crew trained by the Savoy Hotel, fine on-demand dining including a multi-course tasting menu curated by the onboard chef and Caelus' full-time sommelier, and turndown service, great service doesn't stop on the ground. First Class guests have access to expedited (Caelus Select) check-in, security (not available at all airports), and boarding; Caelus Lofts located across the server; Caelus' dedicated First Class Terminal at MRT International Airport; and to lounges owned by other SkyTransit Alliance member airlines.

Business Class

Caelus Airlines Business Class

Available on all but our smallest aircraft, guests in Caelus' industry-leading Business Class enjoy a lie-flat reclining seat upholstered with Poltrona Frau leather, turndown service when it's time to sleep, and our attentive cabin crew trained by the Savoy Hotel Business Class. Meals available on-demand are designed by Caelus' team of skilled chefs, with wine pairings curated by Caelus' full-time sommelier. Business Class guests also have access to expedited (Caelus Select) check-in, security (not available at all airports), and boarding; Caelus Lofts located across the server; Caelus' dedicated First Class Terminal at MRT International Airport; and to lounges owned by other SkyTransit Alliance member airlines.

Main Cabin Select

Caelus Airlines Main Cabin Select

For those looking for a step-up from our Main Cabin, we recommend Main Cabin Select, our "premium economy" product available only on long-haul international aircraft.

Main Cabin

Caelus Airlines Main Cabin

Our Main Cabin includes industry-leading legroom and seat comfort in addition to complementary food and beverage service on all flights.

In-Flight Entertainment

On all of our aircraft save for those built by Cessna, we offer TV and WiFi onboard each flight. For no additional charge, each seatback TV has access to nearly endless amounts of TV shows, movies, games, and music channels, and includes newly released content that is not yet available on streaming services. Our WiFi has two tiers: basic and premium. Basic is included in the price of your airplane ticket and gives free access to all Internet services save for streaming video. Our premium tier includes streaming video for a small additional fee; this fee is waived for First Class and Business Class guests in addition to certain fare classes and frequent flyer tiers.

Furthermore, USB ports and power outlets are available at each seat. Depending on your device, we may be able to lend you a charger to use for the length of your flight; the cost of this charger will be taken at the beginning of your flight and returned at the end, provided that the charger is returned to us in usable condition. If you have music or TV shows on your Android or iOS-based device, you can play it back in your seat's TV by plugging it into the USB port and selecting the device from the TV's menu.

Dining

Food service is available on all flights except those operated using Cessna aircraft. On all flights, this includes soft drinks, juices, water, and Starbucks coffee. On flights between 12 PM and 2 AM, this includes a fully-stocked bar (available only to those over 18 with ID). Depending on flight length, time of departure, and class of service, food service may range from an afternoon tea service including tea sandwiches and a beverage of your choice, to a light meal such as a salad or panini, to a multi-course lunch or dinner service.

Damaged and Lost Baggage

Making sure your baggage is handled properly is important to us. If your baggage gets delayed or lost, we will work to return it to you as soon as possible. If it is damaged in transit, we will help you repair it under many circumstances. Those who have been affected by damage or loss to their checked baggage in most cases will be subject to compensation in the form of cash, frequent flyer points, or vouchers.

Escort Service

For unaccompanied minors and the disabled, an optional escort service is available to better assist you for a one-way fee that includes the full trip booked. This fee is waived for disabled customers, and is mandatory for children under the age of 13. If connecting to or from a different airline, it may be necessary that you purchase escort service from that airline as well; however, Caelus Airlines will work with partner airlines to ensure that this isn't necessary if at all possible.

If you opt for this service, a representative will greet you upon arrival to the airport, and will escort you through to the end of your booked trip. On request, the representative can meet you at the car, bus, or train when it drops you off, and see you through to grand transportation at your destination.

Extended Delays

For guests affected by a delay longer than two hours, Caelus Airlines will offer a meal voucher that can be used to buy food anywhere within the airport. Upon request, this meal voucher can be exchanged for cash, a check, or be credited back to the payment card used to purchase your flight ticket. If it is necessary to stay overnight, Caelus Airlines will provide accommodations at a nearby hotel and will offer overnight kits containing toiletries and pajamas. In accordance with the law, additional compensation in the form of cash, frequent flyer points, or vouchers may be available depending on the length of the delay.

Overbooking

Overbooking a flight means that airlines will accept a few additional reservations for seats on a flight beyond the aircraft's seating capacity. Airlines overbook to try to fill seats left empty by passengers who don't show up for their flight or don't cancel their reservations prior to the flight's departure. Overbooking also creates booking opportunities for customers who need to be on a light that is showing full but likely to depart with available seats. In fact, the majority of overbooked flights depart with empty seats because the formula we use to determine our booking levels is carefully applied and very conservative.

If a flight is overbooked and scheduled to be full, airline representatives will first call for any guests who will voluntarily take a later flight. Those who volunteer will be subject to compensation for the inconvenience. If there aren't enough volunteers, those who have yet to check-in may be involuntarily denied boarding (IDB), or "bumped". Those who have already been given a boarding pass will not be involuntarily denied boarding regardless of fare class, class of service, frequent flyer status, or any other reason.

Regardless of whether a later flight is taken voluntarily or involuntarily, Caelus Airlines will refund the cost of the ticket and offer additional compensation in the form of cash, frequent flyer points, or vouchers.

Pets

Pets can fly. But whether your pet gets carried on or shipped as (very special) cargo, we’ve put requirements and restrictions in place to make sure your furry friend is comfortable and safe. Get familiar with these guidelines to ensure your jet-set pet is happy and healthy from takeoff to landing.

Dogs, cats and household birds can travel with you in the cabin provided that they meet the following requirements:

  • Your pet must be small enough to fit comfortably in a kennel without touching or protruding from the sides of the kennel and with the ability to move around.
  • The kennel must fit under the seat directly in front of you.
  • Maximum carry-on kennel dimensions are determined by your flight. You must contact Caelus Airlines Reservations to determine the appropriate kennel size.
  • Your pet must remain inside the kennel (with door secured) while in a Caelus Airlines boarding area (during boarding and deplaning), a Caelus Airlines or SkyTransit Alliance partner airport lounge, and while onboard the aircraft.
  • Your pet must be at least 10 weeks old. Some jurisdictions may require a higher age.
  • Your pet counts as one piece of carry-on baggage.
  • One pet is permitted per kennel with the following exceptions:
    • One female cat/dog may travel with her un-weaned litter if the litter is a minimum of 10 weeks old to 6 months of age.
    • There is no limit on the number of animals in the litter.

A health certificate is required when shipping your pet as cargo or checked as baggage. Some destination states may require a health certificate for your pet. If a health certificate is required, it must be issued by a licensed veterinarian within 10 days of transport and must include:

  • shipper's name and address
  • tag numbers or tattoos assigned to the animal
  • age of the animal being shipped: USDA regulations require animals be at least 10 weeks old and fully weaned before traveling domestically, at least 16 weeks old before traveling to the U.S. from other countries and at least 15 weeks old for European travel
  • statement that the animal is in good health (If the shipper knows that the pet is pregnant, it must be noted on the health certificate)
  • list of administered inoculations, when applicable
  • signature of the veterinarian
  • date of the certificate
