Disney Dreams is a fireworks show that was presented at the Lillian Disney Amphitheatre in Konawa. Hosted by Peter Pan and Wendy Darling from the 1953 Disney film Peter Pan, Disney Dreams was a journey through classic Disney films old and new, accompanied by choreographed fireworks. The show was sponsored by BluRail.

The show opened on July 15, 2017, and went into moratorium on February 17, 2018. The show was originally slated to run in February 2017 instead of what eventually became Once Upon a Time. Soleurs decided to revive Disney Dreams for the 5th anniversary of the server.

Background

The original show was created in 2012 by Steve Davison, also responsible for Wishes, Once Upon a Time, and World of Color, among many others. The show began testing in 2011 and debuted at Disneyland Paris on April 1, 2012, to critical acclaim. The show ran for nearly five years, until March 24, 2017, to be replaced by Disney Illuminations, a new show based on Ignite the Dream: A Nighttime Spectacular of Magic and Light at Shanghai Disneyland, for the 25th anniversary of the park.

Plot summary

Disney Dreams opens with a voice before opening into a fanfare and instrumental compilation of music from the film Peter Pan. After a crescendo and fireworks, the show slows down to a rendition of "The Second Star to the Right" (presented in English and French) before Peter Pan and Wendy appear to open the show and introduce the Second Star to the Right. Shortly into their search for Tinker Bell, Peter Pan's shadow escapes, and a struggle ensues. The shadow eventually hits the Second Star to the Right, draining it of its magic and causing him to fall away into classic Disney films. He is sent to the world of Beauty and the Beast, where Lumiere comes to sing "Be Our Guest" (presented in French).

After his escape from the world of Beauty and the Beast, he encounters Remy from Ratatouille (presented in French), who pops his bubble and causes him to fall into the Cave of Wonders from Aladdin. The shadow rubs the lamp, and the Genie escapes, introducing himself by singing "Friend Like Me" (presented in English). Eventually, the Genie sends him away on the magic carpet, and he finds himself back in Paris, this time at the Notre Dame Cathedral, as Quasimodo emerges to sing "Out There" from The Hunchback of Notre Dame (presented in French).

After his sendoff from Quasimodo, the shadow finds himself in the London of Mary Poppins, as the chimney sweeps gather for a rendition of "Step in Time" (presented in English), where he falls off the rooftops and finds himself in the jungles of India. After some wandering, he finds himself at the home of King Louie, who brings him into a round of "I Wan'na Be Like You" (presented in English), from The Jungle Book.

After further flying and wandering, he encounters the tower of Rapunzel from Tangled. He moves further along to find her and Flynn Rider on their iconic boat ride watching the lanterns and singing "I See the Light" (presented in English). He finds himself floating away on the lanterns, and eventually in the seedy underbelly of 1912 New Orleans from The Princess and the Frog, encountering Dr. Facilier, who warns him of his capabilities during "I've Got Friends on the Other Side" (presented in English). This encounter brings him to the mercy of Captain Hook, who sends him off the plank and to the tentacles of Ursula from The Little Mermaid. As he escapes, he finds his way to Maleficent from Sleeping Beauty. Peter Pan arrives to fight Captain Hook. Tinker Bell is finally found, and she returns the magic to the Second Star to the Right, which destroys Captain Hook and the other villains and saves the day. Tinker Bell uses her pixie dust to send Wendy and Peter Pan flying, as "You Can Fly!" is sung. The show closes on a reprise of "The Second Star to the Right".
