Creating a set format for all pieces of legislation
I - Bills
- Bills are individual pieces of legislation which set rules for their subject until they are repealed.
- Bills must be made formatted in accordance with the following:
- They must have a title and a preamble in italics
- The preamble is not to be taken as law, it is simply a short summary of the subject of the bill for ease of reading.
- They may have any amount of chapters
- If they have two or more chapters they will be formatted with a roman numeral and the name of the chapter, and which describes the following bit of legislation.
- In the case that a bill only has a single chapter, the chapter name does not need to be included.
- They must have at least one article, which must have a number.
- Sub-articles can be added by adding indentation and using letters.
- Sub-sub articles can be added by adding another layer of indentation and using lower case roman numerals.
- They must have a title and a preamble in italics
- Each bill is put on a separate wiki page with a log of amendments.
- All bills, even those made before the passing of this act, must abide by this act.
- All new bills must be reviewed for at least three days. After that, if two MPs motion for a vote one will be held.
- The review time may be skipped with support of three MPs and also the approval of either the president or the vice president
II - Amendments
- Amendments are proposals brought up to the house of representatives requesting to change a law by adding or removing certain (or all) parts.
- Additions must be formatted using green or bold text but not both.
- Removals must be formatted using strike-through text and, if possible, red text.
- If the whole text of a law is removed through an amendment then the whole law is repealed, and a new bill must be passed to reinstate it.
- All new amendments must be reviewed for at least three days. After that, if two MPs motion for a vote one will be held.
- The review time may be skipped with support of three MPs and also the approval of either the president or the vice president
III - Resolutions
- Resolutions are legally binding acts of the house of representatives that do not change, add nor remove a piece of legislation.
- Resolutions must not contradict current legislation and must be changed if a passed amendment contradicts it.
- Resolutions must have a title, however, other than that, may be formatted in any way.
- All resolutions must be reviewed for at least three days. After that, if two MPs motion for a vote one will be held.
- The review time may be skipped with approval from the president or the vice president.
