Fairfax-Atlanta Metropolitan Airport (AFX) is a regional airport located approximately 2 minutes and 45 seconds from Downtown Atlanta and 1 minute and 45 seconds from Fairfax Northern Cross. The airport has two terminals and two areas for remote stands. In the summer of 2016, the airport began a major renovation completely overhauling airport operations. Previously six airlines serve AFX, with two more planned, and was a crucial hub for OneMRT, especially Air Peach before both of their respective demise. There was a control tower and two runways. On November 23rd, 2014, AFX was certified by MRT Civil Aviation Organization. It its current state, the airport is unfinished and passengers can only transfer within terminals.
Renovations
On January 19th, 2015, Air Peach announced a 1.8 billion dollar upgrade to the airport for a better traveler experience. These updates include a new check in terminal for all Air Peach and RedPeach passengers, new aircraft serving the airport, and renovated terminals. The renovation is highlighted by the abolishment of remote-stands serving the airport. This renovation is now partially complete, although the airport remains temporarily closed. Again in the summer of 2016, the airport announced another renovation, adding a new check-in terminal closer to Fairfax, two new runways, two terminals, and enhanced ground service.

The current airlines serving the airport are: Air Peach (HQ), RedPeach (Focus City), IntraAir, RegioLinQ, Eastern Airways, GoldSkies, Ryozu Airlines, Ilirea Airlines, ArdenAir, and SkyWest.
Gate Numbers Explained
- While the system seems complex, Atlanta Airport gate numbers are in reality quite simple.
- There are two terminals, Terminal 1 and Terminal 2, and this is reflected in the first part of the gate number - for example, a flight departing from Terminal 1 has the gate number 1A1.
- Each terminal has two concourses, concourse A and concourse B (in Terminal 1 concourse A is made up of remote stands).
- The next number in the gate listing is the concourse letter - for example, a flight departing from Terminal 1, Concourse A has the gate number 1A1.
- The final number in the listing is the number of the gate itself.
- Put all together, a flight departing from Terminal 1, Concourse A, Gate 1 has the gate number 1A1.
