Federated States of the New World/Laws/Ambassador Act 2020

Obligations:

  1. Ambassadors must represent the Federated States of the New World and its leaders.
  2. They must notify the administration of any economic or political developments in their host MPO.
  3. Ambassadors can help their host country in matters of foreign policy by informing them of what would help develop their relationship with the Federated States of the New World.
  4. Ambassadors should attend meetings in their host MPO to stay informed about their policies.
  5. Ambassadors should try to advise the government on how to improve relations with their host MPO.
  6. If an ambassador feels that the government of the FS is requiring him to do actions against the interests of the FS, he may report these actions to the judiciary.

Restrictions

  1. Ambassadors should not intervene in matters that do not concern foreign relations in their host MPO.
  2. An ambassador of the FS should respect the laws of the FS at all times and when they are in their host MPO they should also follow the laws of the host MPO.
  3. An ambassador cannot have other affiliation than the FS as these may suay his decisions.

Appointment

  1. Ambassadors are appointed by the government of the Federated States without a vote.
  2. Ambassadors can be recalled at any time by the government of the FS if it deems that they’re not completing their obligations to the FS and its government.
  3. Ambassadors may also resign at any time if they no longer want to have that post.

Powers

  1. The ambassador of the FS has the right to speak for the nation in meetings but must convene with the administration when publishing an official statement from the FS.*
  2. The ambassador can only sign treaties with the consent of the administration.*
  3. The ambassador can draft official documents relating to foreign affairs with their host country but it must be ratified by the administration before it gets published.*

*If the leaders of the FS trust an ambassador enough they can allow the ambassador more independence than what is proposed in this bill.
