The Gondollama Cup is a sporting organization run by Vulpicula in the city of Monte Isola, and manages the city's official sport and its' variations. There are numerous variants, but all involve the use of the city's mascot animal, the Gondollama. It is organized by the Monte Isola Sporting Association, which is headquartered in western Monte Isola.

General Rules and Setup

The Gondollama in its' natural habitat, the canals of Monte Isola.

All variants of the Gondollama Cup operate under the same basic rules, with minor variations to give each different sub-game its own feel.

  1. All players must operate in teams of two.
  2. All teams must consist of a pilot, who drives the boat, and a shooter, who sits on the Gondollama in the back of the boat.
  3. If the boat is destroyed, you must get back into a new boat, get the Gondollama back in, and resume play.
  4. Players who are out of the boat may not shoot at other players. They can, however, be shot at.
  5. If the team's Gondollama is killed, the team is out of the game. You are not allowed to heal the Gondollama.
  6. Players are not allowed to leave the boat unless the boat is destroyed, or they are giving up.
  7. Leashes are allowed to help wrangle the Gondollama back into the boat.
  8. Anyone caught breaking the rules intentionally is to be disqualified.

All teams must start in different places in the canals of Monte Isola, and are not allowed to fire at each other until the game has begun.

Variants

Gondollama Battle Arena

Gondollama Battle Arena is the simplest variant of the game, and offers very few rule alterations. It consists of a team vs team battle across the entire city, and lasts until everyone except one team is eliminated.

  1. All teams must be in creative mode, and are allowed an infinite amount of normal arrows with a Power II bow.

Gondollama Team Battle

Gondollama Team Battle is similar to the Battle Arena in many ways, however, instead of each team consisting of two players and a gondollama, there are two teams total, consisting of multiple pilot/shooter pairs. The two teams, the Acacia Alpacas and the Darkai Lamas (a pun on the Dalai Lama), use Acacia Boats/Orange Carpet and Dark Oak Boats/Brown Carpet respectively.

  1. All teams must be in creative mode, and are allowed an infinite amount of normal arrows with a Power II bow.
  2. Players are not penalized for accidentally hitting their own team, but should they kill a teammates Gondollama, they are disqualified also.
  3. Players who are caught using the other team's colours to confuse players are automatically disqualified.

Gondollama Hunter

Gondollama Hunter is fairly unique among the variations. Only team is allowed a bow, and has the goal of hunting down all of the other teams, who are disarmed. The hunter is given a time limit of around 120 seconds + 5 seconds for each team. If the hunter is able to kill every single opposing team before the time limit, the hunter wins. If the hunter fails and some of the hiding teams manage to survive until the timelimit, the hunter loses, and each surviving hiding team splits the pot.

  1. All teams must be in survival mode, with the exception of the Hunting team who are allowed an infinite amount of normal arrows with a Power V bow.
  2. The hunting team is NOT to use dynmap, and if any evidence of its usage is found, they are disqualified and barred from any future games.
  3. Hiding teams are a maximum of two extra boats per pair, and are allowed to punch the Hunter's boat if they are able.
  4. Neither team is allowed to eat food to regenerate health.

Gondollama Raid

Gondollama Raid is similar to Gondollama Hunter, with some major differences. The field consists of two teams, the Champion, and the Raiders. The Champion team consists of exactly one pair, with everyone else being on the Raiding team. The goal for the Raiders is to wipe out the Champion, and the goal of the Champion is to wipe out the Raiders.

  1. All teams must be in survival mode.
  2. The Raiders are to use an unenchanted bow with normal arrows.
  3. The Champion is to use a Power V bow with normal arrows.
  4. The Champion is able to shoot while their boat is destroyed.
  5. The Raiders are allowed a maximum of five extra boats per pair, while the Champion is allowed an infinite amount.
  6. If either someone on a Raiding Pair or the Champion team dies or the respective Gondollama, that pair is disqualified. If it's the Champion team, the game ends with a Raider victory.
  7. Neither team is allowed to eat food to regenerate health.

Gondollama Race

Gondollama Race is similar to a standard boat race, however, players are allowed to shoot at other teams, including their boats to slow them down. It runs through a fixed course across the city, and the first team to cross the finish line on the final lap automatically wins.

  1. All teams must be in survival, and are allowed a maximum of sixteen normal arrows with an unenchanted bow.
  2. Players who are shot out of their boats are not out of the race, and are actually allowed to shoot at passing boats.
  3. If the team loses a player or their Gondollama, they are automatically out of the race.
