Intercity Court of Justice

The Intercity Court of Justice is the judicial branch of the League of Cities, and is headed by the Chief Justice, currently Aliksong. Its location will be determined soon.

Purpose

The ICoJ exists to try states and representatives that have broken LoC policies and procedures, or to arbitrate differences between states.

Procedures

All cases brought before the ICoJ will be headed by the Chief Justice, or whoever is next in line at the time¹, with a jury of ? jurists. Any state, regardless of membership in the LoC, may request that a case be brought before the LoC. Jurors will also not necessarily be part of the LoC, jurors will be selected at random from the list of people on the server at the time. The appropriate punishment will be decided by the jury and confirmed/rejected by the Chief Justice.

The jury must come to a unanimous decision in any trial.

¹Order proceeds as: Secretariat, Deputy Secretariat, General Assembly Chief, and Founder. In the event none of the listed officials are available, an acting judge will be selected from the people online. If the Chief Justice does not head the case, the acting judge of the case will need to report to him and the LoC on the details of the case.

Conduct

At the beginning of the trial, it will be decided whether non-parties to the trial will be allowed into the courtroom or not, and whether non-LoC members will be allowed into the courtroom or not. All members involved in the trial, as well as observing guests, are expected to follow these rules:

• No instigations of misconduct, disrespect, violence, or spam
• No projectiles, spawning mobs, or throwing anything
• Remain silent unless you are called upon to speak
• Remain seated unless you are called to the front, are supposed to be standing, or have to leave
• Do not attempt to push the rules, we will expel you from the site as we see fit

Failure to follow these rules will result in an automatic expulsion from the site of the trial by an admod, as seen fit by the head of the case.

City-State of Kitania vs. League of Cities

This trial has been instigated by the City-State of Kitania against the League of Cities. The City-State of Kitania has filed a lawsuit against the League of Cities for violating policy 1020 and removing the City-State of Kitania as a full member from the League of Cities without proper procedure or for violating any policy.

This trial was won by the City-State of Kitania.
