Flight numbering system
The flight numbering system for KMA is not chronological (out first flight is modern day flight 15). Instead, the following system is used:
The last digit is calculated from the airport code of the origin and destination. The airport codes are sorted alphabetically, and then the last digit is assigned like this:
1st alphabetically - 2nd alphabetically: 0
1st alphabetically - 3rd alphabetically: 1
1st alphabetically - 4th alphabetically: 2
1st alphabetically - 5th alphabetically: 3
2nd alphabetically - 3rd alphabetically: 4
2nd alphabetically - 4th alphabetically: 5
2nd alphabetically - 5th alphabetically: 6
3rd alphabetically - 4th alphabetically: 7
3rd alphabetically - 5th alphabetically: 8
4th alphabetically - 5th alphabetically: 9
There are always 5 destinations per flight group.
The bit before the last digit is much simpler; it is simply the plane group number.
