Kanata is a country which is in many different areas of the New World because it is not one contiguous area, however there are some states which do have a contiguous area.
Its capital is Cornwall, and the largest city is San Francisco, in the state of Tierrente. 4 towns are part of the MRT-wide MPO Alliance Cities.
It is a parliamentary federal republic.
History
Etymology
The name Kanata comes from the generally accepted origin of the name Canada, that being the St. Laurentian Iroquois word kanata meaning "village" or "settlement". This is documented in one of Jacques Cartier's literary works describing his second voyage to North America.
Lore
The original area of Kanata, now just east of Cornwall was first settled in by the Centrallers from Central City in 1632, who had been colonizing across the world for decades.
The settlers went west to Lake Cornwall and started a small town on the south bank. They named the lake and settlement Carnwill, after Central City's mayor at the time, Joeseph Carnwill.
In 1790 the Bratleind Empire were plotting an invasion of the land in Carnwill for its natural resources and flat land.
18-year old newsboy Roger Williamson was standing outside the window of the plotting room and heard the entire plot. He reportedly jumped into the city square and announced it to the public. A week later news reached the settlement of Carnwill. The settlers began construction on a wall to protect the settlement. As there was a wood shortage at the time, they used corn to build the wall. The street being built next to the wall was called Wall Street by popular demand.
When Bratleish soldiers marched to the settlement, many found the corn wall amusing and simply trampled over it. Chief Officer Eric Wingo led the settlement until a replacement was found. The new mayor, Jonathon Kennings, paved the roads, built a town hall and began to invest in extensive advertising campaigns to encourage people to live in the newly-renamed Cornwall. The Bratiesh also took over another Centraller settlement at the time, New Central City (now New Mayton City), and both Cornwall and New Central City joined the Dominion of Kanata.
In 1865 the Bratiesh was broke after fighting the First North War, and so they had to change the price of tax in Kanata by 87 dollars.
This did not abide well with Kanatians, according to Cornwall Times editor James Cookson in June of 1866:
"...the people demand that Bratleind lower their taxes or else they will revolt! These taxes are too high for a upper-class society like us!"

By the next day, June 15th, the Bratiesh had done nothing to help the situation. So, the people of Cornwall started a rebellion nicknamed the "Kombatants of the Uppers". These rebels burned down the Bratleind government buildings in Bratleind, however the Bratiesh had no troops as they were too broke. The rebels took over the Bratiesh capital and renamed it Calgary, after the small lake nearby. They then convinced New Central City to join them.
On June 17 the Kombatants wrote a new declaration of independence and declared that Cornwall, Calgary, New Central City, and the small mining town of Vancouver be unified under the country of Kanata.
The next year on July 18th 1867, Prismarine City gifted Kanata a large 10000 m^2 useless piece of forest land on its first independence day. They named it "Greenland'' as a joke. Ironically, the forest is usually covered in snow and ice year-round.
Less than a week after Prismarine gifted the land, gold was found in the rivers of Greenland. Nuuk was the only town in the area and became a hub for miners coming from all around the world to try and get rich quick. Nuuk officially joined Kanata on January 1st 1890
In 1904 the rising Minecart Rapid Transit company expanded their system to include Kanata's towns and cities, specifically P59, NE30 and F41
New Central City renamed to New Mayton City on April 6th, 1905.
By October 1912 the population of Kanata was rising to more than 1.5 million people. Jobs were very limited, and many people had either low income or no money at all. Because of this crisis the Kanatian government put forward "The Job Act of 1914" which stated that "jobs needed to pay higher wages and that noone can refuse food from a stranger". This law was taken out in 2012 in favour of the "Job Act of 2011" which was more environmentally friendly.
In the 1950s Kanata became a franchise hub with many franchises starting in Kanata like C&W and ZXCOFFEE, both of which started in Kanata's largest city Calgary.
In the 1970s Kanata was one of the first to establish learning about redstone technology on the MRT with the Calgary Institute of Technology opening in early March 1974.
On March 5th, 1996, the Cornwall Stock Exchange collapsed for 3 whole days, bringing prices up again for the first time since 1912. This money problem persisted until 2013.
In 2022 Kanata participated in MRTvision Screenshot Contest 10, with Cornwall and Calgary bidding for venue space for the event, however Nymphalia ultimately won the bid. "Sunny Day in Donton, Cornwall" was taken by Spegit007 in Cornwall's Donton neighborhood just south of City Hall.

National Parks
Kanata's first national park, Vancouver National Park is located in the Falcon Mountains, near Vancouver and roughly 0.3 km from Grisville at F40 Grisville station. Another national park is in Nuuk, that being Pine Mountain National Park.

The temperature of Kanata can vary from region to region. In most parts of the country during winter the temperature is a cold -20°C (5°F) where snow can stay on the ground for 6 months until melting completely. In the summers however it can get hot at 30°C (86°F)
In the lake area of Calgary and Vancouver the humidity level is higher than that of Cornwall due to slightly higher elevation.

The national airline is Air Kanata, which connects Kanatian cities with other cities and towns on the MRT.
Air Kanata has Soeing (formerly Jazz) manufactured aircraft for its fleet. Other aircraft will be considered as well.
Kanata's airport and heliport codes under national law, require the letter Y in the first letter of the IATA code, except for Greater East Plains International Airport, due to the region's significance.
