Kantō International Airport (KTI) is an international airport located south of Kantō in the far east. Its design is oriented towards airline alliances, with four concourses being dedicated to major alliances and two towards general use.
Information
Kantō International's layout is modeled after Taoyuan International Airport's. Two terminals with processing areas and the large gates are located on opposite ends of the airport, with a ring road in front of each connected to a sunken highway with four lanes going in a single direction each between the terminal and the medium gate concourses. Bridges on both sides of the terminals lead to these concourses, which span nearly the entire length of the airport. They are designated separately from their counterparts at the other terminal, but operationally are the same building. Small gates and helipads are located on two separate concourses at the center of the airport, which are accessible from bridges at various points of the other concourses. Two bi-directional people movers move in a circle about the airport stopping at the ends and center of the main concourses as well as the main terminals, with departures using the elevated one and arrivals using the underground one.
The main terminals consist of 3 main floors, with arrivals on the ground floor, check-in and security on the second floor, and departures on the third floor. The departures people mover is located above the third floor and the arrivals people mover is under the first floor. Large gates are accessed from the main terminal with a split jetway leading connecting to both the departures and arrivals floors. Medium gate concourses have 10 gates each and are labeled A, B, E, and F, and are designed such that the departures floor has the main walkway taking up half of the upper floor and seating areas taking up half of the lower floor. Arrivals use a walkway between these areas to access the main arrivals walkway on the other half of the lower floor. Small gate and helipad concourses have 20 small gates and 10 helipads each and are designated C and D. All gates are numbered from north to south with the exception of the large gates, which are labeled by the letter of the concourse they are closest to.
Future expansion may include additional passenger terminals and/or military and cargo areas.
Transit
The airport is accessible from Hisaishi Avenue running through the center of the airport with access to ring roads in front of each terminal and several tracks under the airport. Stations under each terminal are served by the Yamanote and Namboku Lines, with planned service from the Hokkaidō Shinkansen.

Check-Ins
