Kantō Railways, or KR, operates all transportation services and transportation hubs within Kantō as well as several services to the surrounding Tōkaido Metropolitan Area. The company mainly operates railways as its name implies, but it also operates a variety of other services such as bus and boat.
High Speed Rail Corporation maintains a major stake in the company and is responsible for providing and developing rolling stock and other technology for the railway systems.
