Rail line winding in to Kappen Hbf from the southwestern shores of the city. Intended to host RailNorth in the future.
Kappen is a Mayor town in north-east Zeta in the New World. It is a central commercial, cultural and infrastructural hub of Neobaltia, and is located at the heart of the country – on the western cape of the eastern peninsula.
History (Lore)
Kappen was founded in 1667 by German fishers who were exploring the far north. They were instantly attracted by the rich variety of fish in the sea, now the areas between the Northern Ocean and the Neobaltic Sea. As they wanted access to both bodies of water, they settled on the cape. The word cape, which is Kap in German, is what resulted in the towns name. While it remained a small fishing settlement for close to 90 years, the economic importance of Kappen was reflected in its population tally soon after. The town grew steadily until the late 1800s, when it experienced rapid growth due to military expansion given the strategic importance of the city, as well as the industrial boom attracting many people who were living in rural areas beforehand. Nowadays Kappen is known for its combination of modern and older architecture, which result in the unique flair of the town.

Kappen was founded in September 2020 by ondist. The town is an MNA and F.S. member (the latter through the subregion of Neobaltia). The town skipped [Councillor], and was promoted to [Mayor] on January 23rd, 2021.
Transportation
Kappen has a functioning port, which is currently served by Neobal Ferry Lines and Hummingbird Boat Lines (59/Mysotis Line). Kappen Central Station (Kappen Hauptbahnhof) will be served by RailNorth and GreenRail at some point in the future.
Kappen has it's own subway system, Metro Kappen, which cannot be used by players ranked [Guest] as carts need to be placed manually.
In addition to that, Kappen Heliport was constructed in late January 2021, which offers connections through FS Heli.
Notable Buildings
Notable builds include the port, on Hafenstraße (Port Road) in the north-west of the town, as well as the Cinema on Westuferstraße (West Shore Road) in the far west. The Town Hall, natively "Rathaus" is situated opposite of Kappen Central Station.
