Kitania Municipal Airport is an airport in the West Transit Center of Kitania. In began construction in November 2014, but was conceived in May.

The airport has six airlines with flights to seventeen destinations. IntraAir operates a hub out of this airport, holding the most gates and flying to the majority of the airport's destinations.

History

When the city of Kitania was founded in February 2014, the old world airport ban was still in effect. However, it was announced that airports would be allowed on the old world when the new world opened. The government of Kitania thus began planning Kitania Municipal Airport. The West Transit Center was built as a district of Kitania to hold the airport as well as KTA Crossrail Station. The KTA Kitania Metro 3 line and T1 shuttle originally serviced the area, until the 3 line was replaced by the 6 line and the T1 shuttle with the 4 and 5 lines. The 7 line was later built to the West Transit Center. An area south of I-6 was kept for a runway, and an area in the West Transit Center was kept for an airport terminal. The airport began construction in November 2014, one month after the new world opened. The A concourse was connected by a taxiway over I-6 to the runway, which also connected to two small B gates, accessible via a rail shuttle. When the airport filled up, a new C concourse with its own runway was constructed north of Westside, connected to the main terminal by a teleport booth, which studies have shown may cause skin cancer.

Facilities

The airport consists of two buildings, fourteen gates, and two runways. The main building, in which all passengers enter the airport, is located on WTC North Road between Airport Drive and Jerry Boulevard. In the lobby, there is a security checkpoint in the center, and check-ins on either side. After passing through security, there is a fly chute to the upper level of the main building, containing the three A gates. The A gates use jetways to connect to planes. The A gates are connected via a taxiway to the southside of I-6, which includes the B gates and runway 69. The B gates are connected to the main building by an underground shuttle train from just past the security checkpoint. The gates are small, handling tiny commuter planes. To board, passengers must walk from the shuttle onto the tarmac and board their plane directly. The B gates are connected directly to runway 69. The C gates are in a dedicated building, connected by a teleport booth from the main building just past the security checkpoint. Passengers boarding planes at the C gates must walk out of the building across the tarmac and walk up stairs to their plane. All C gates are directly connected to runway 42. Passengers connecting between flights in one concourse may connect seamlessly, however passengers connecting between the A, B, and C gates must go through the arrivals area and go through security.

Ground Transportation

The airport is in the West Transit Center, which is connected by the KTA Kitania Metro to Westside, the North Transit Center, Kitania Beach, Kitania Space Center, the Residential District, Eastside, and Downtown, by KTA Bus to Westside, Eastside, and Downtown, and by the KTA Commuter Rail to the nearby cities of Silverhaven, Redlin, NeonLand, Mikeland, and Chack City.

The KTA Kitania Metro has two stops in the West Transit Center. The primary of these is Jerry Boulevard - WTC, located at the south end of Jerry Boulevard at the entrance to the West Transit Center's parking area. This station is serviced by the 4 line, with express service to the North Transit Center, the 5 line, with local service to the North Transit Center stopping in Kitania Landing and Void Zone, the 6 line, running east along the southside of Kitania past Kitania Beach to Kitania Space Center, then to the North Transit Center, and by the 7 line, going west to Westside and east along the southside of Kitania past Kitania Beach and Kitania Space Center into the Residential District and Westside. In addition to Jerry Boulevard - WTC, there is another metro station located at the intersection of WTC North Road and Jerry Boulevard, known as WTC North Road. This station is serviced by the 5 line just north of Jerry Boulevard - WTC.

KTA Bus provides bus servide to and around the West Transit Center. Just outside the entrance to the airport is the KT4 Metro Bus, connecting to airport hotels as well as KTA Crossrail Station, where commuter rail service is available, as well as the KT5 bus, with direct service to the West Transit Center parking area, connecting to other buses and the Jerry Boulevard - WTC metro station. The KT5 connects to the KT7 to Westside and the X4 to Downtown.
