Kitania Transylvania Station is a commuter and intercity rail station in Kitania. It is located in the North Transit Center and is for use of third-party rail systems. The opening of the station marks the end of an era in which third-party transit operators could not have rail lines in the city, and were restricted to buses. The opening of the station will bring about the first non-KTA rail systems to serve Kitania.

Terminology

The name of the station is meant to parody Pennsylvania Station, or Penn Station, New York City's intercity rail hub.

Station Design

The station uses a three-story layout, and is similar to KTA Crossrail Station. At street level is a spacious mezzanine, with track directories, stairs down to the platforms, ticket counters, and retail space. Below that are the track levels, consisting of two floors, which each include 4 island platforms and 4 tracks. All together, the station supports 8 intercity rail lines. Each line will use two tracks, both of which share an island platform. By default, all tracks and platforms are designed for through service, however terminating service can be configured with the terminating track looping around to the other track. There is no advanced technology in the station design, it is a simple button departure that is designed to fit the preferred style of Kitania, in addition to not requiring complicated and obstructive redstone wiring. Rail operators may opt to include empty cart detectors in their tunnels immediately outside the station as long as they do not obstruct the path of nearby lines.
