London's Pub Quiz
London's Pub Quiz is a quiz based show/game made by LondonThameslink that is designed to reflect on IRL pub quizzes. The quiz itself has 6 rounds with a variety of questions. All quizzes are up to date with the information correct from 2020, with each quiz having questions and answers from certain year periods to general information.
Rules and guidance
- You CANNOT use the Internet to search up the answers. Most of the quiz questions will not be from the Internet and that using the service is strictly prohibited in line with IRL Pub Quiz rules.
- You are NOT to share your answer with any other player, unless you are in a pair of 2 - in this case you are ONLY allowed to DM your teammate (and Vulpicula to provide the answer). If you are playing as a solo player, you must not message other players the answer other than Vulpicula the answer on the night.
- Each question is worth 1 point each, with the exception of certain rounds which may have bonus points
- If you answer the question wrong, you will get no point(s) for that question
- We'd like to ensure you have Mumble to play London's Pub Quiz, even if it's to listen to the question. You must answer the question in-game via DM to Vulpi (Pub Quiz scorer) and not on Mumble chat/MRT general chat.
- Players can play the quiz as a solo player or a pair of 2. Playing as a pair of 2 however requires one person to answer the question rather than both players. You will still get a point even if one member of your pair gets the question correct.
SPECIAL NOTICE: If you are over the age of your country's alcohol age limit and are planning to drink alcohol on the night, please ensure you drink responsibly. There are still some players who are underage and therefore you are to be respectful and responsible for your actions.
THE VENUE SELECTION: The venue to host Pub Quizzes must be either an actual pub building or a building that has a bar. If you do not have a bar or pub in your town, you may not be able to host London's Pub Quiz. There will be exceptions if there's a certain place (example being Christmas Island and Premier cities) that does not have a pub but instead has a "pub-like" building (such as a restaurant or village hall).
Rounds and previous quizzes
On the 1st November 2020 at 8:30pm UTC (8:30pm British time), the first London's Pub Quiz took place at the Drinking Gourd pub in Larkspur. VickiTori_ agreed for the first quiz to take part in her city after a long think about where the first quiz should take place. The rounds on that day listed:

- The asterisk next to the Music Lyrics round will have a different points system from the rest of the rounds. If you guess only the song, you get 1 point as normal. You only get 1 bonus point for guessing the year/artist or both if you have guessed the song with it.

London's Pub Quiz: Christmas Edition
With Christmas round the corner on the MRT, the second London's Pub Quiz took place at Christmas Island at 8:30pm UTC (8:30pm British time).
This time around, there will be no release of what the 6 rounds will be - this will be secretive this time. The second London's Pub Quiz will now introduce teams of 2 to the quiz for the first time in its history. This means one player can team up with another player to form a team, providing they put their usernames and their team name down. There will be a couple of changes this time around, as LondonThameslink introduces Vulpicula to be quiz helper for this one and for future pub quizzes.
As of the 9th December 2020, London has now spoken out that there will be a 3rd Pub Quiz for the New Year, which will be likely to take place mid-end of January 2021. This will be the breaking point for whether any more quizzes will take place or not, subject to whether there's any server maintenance or such.
The prize fund this time around is $2,000 plus $25 participation prizes. The prize fund has increase by $1,000 to ensure teams of 2 can play in this Pub Quiz.

London's Pub Quiz: Christmas Edition is also the first time that families and friends of MRT members took part, as a result of European countries heading into COVID-19 Lockdowns and Britain being placed into different tier restrictions.
London's Pub Quiz: January 2021
As the MRT Server was renewed until January 2022, London himself planned and announced on the 9th December 2020 that there would be another Pub Quiz happening in January 2021. Funding was obtained through the January 2021 GSM, with the funding amount being $2,000 again. For the first time ever, sponsorships are being accepted for Pub Quiz.
Due to a number of concerns about the length of the quiz and that players were starting to get bored during the event, it was decided to scale it down as much as possible to 5 rounds of 7 questions each. Feedback from participants will happen this time to ensure the future of the Quiz and to guarantee the sake of running to time.
Owing to national lockdowns and night time curfews across Europe as well as in North America, London's Pub Quiz chose Sunday 31st January 2021 at 8:30pm UTC to allow as many players as possible. A test run was happening during the week between London and Vulpicula to estimate the timing of each questions and answers as well as automating the scoresheet. The final estimate turned out to be 90 minutes to 2 hours, the same amount of time as soccer/football matches in real life.
A couple of concerns and worries arose when it was announced that Vulpicula (the Pub Quiz helper/scorekeeper) may not attend the quiz due to other reasons. Vulpi has said that he will do his best to make it to the quiz but should he not be available on the night due to reasons, London has listed CodyHM as a standby helper in the event that Vulpi is not available. This pub quiz took place in Monte Isola, owned by Vulpicula (yes, he tried to bribe me). A few people arrived for the event, which unfortunately resulted in Foote_Chicken being kicked for saying the quiz answer in public chat.

Those who were 7th place and below (CaptainObi, Duechayapol, frogggggg and DNAmaster10) all got $25 for taking part. The top 6 players also received $25 extra from sponsorship, hence the reason why the prizes are not even)
Further on from the 3rd quiz, London announced that the next one wouldn't be for some time due to other IRL activities, especially with mental stress and confidence starting to run low.
London's Pub Quiz: Go Forth! (April 2021)
As countries started to come out of COVID lockdowns and restrictions around the world, London's Pub Quiz: Go Forth took place on Saturday 24th April 2021 at 8:30pm BST (7:30pm UTC). This is the first time that British Summer Time and UTC have made broadcasters and London a bit confused over the timing.
This version of Pub Quiz saw 5 rounds; MRT Ads, National Dishes, International Sport, Transit Disasters and Travel as the categories. The venue location was Itomori, owned by city mayor a_r_i_a. She specifically asked London if she could host one Pub Quiz and since as promised, Pub Quiz Go Forth is the only slot available for her city to host.
The feedback form for this pub was posted in the media-announcements channel of the MRT Discord for those players and viewers who would like to suggest, complain and give feedback on the quiz. The total prize fund was $2,000 + $25 participation prize. This figure sum may increase in the next Pub Quiz, subject to demand.

London's Pub Quiz: Anniversary Special
After Pub Quiz Go Forth, London has announced a fifth Pub Quiz is in the works owing to popularity. From this quiz onwards, the winner of the previous Pub Quiz is then allowed to pick one category to be featured in the next Pub Quiz. As the winner was Autobus22, he got to choose out of 3 categories and has picked Disney for the next quiz.
The next Pub Quiz was selected to be around the MRT's 9th Anniversary, with the date of 24th July 2021 chosen. Unfortunately, whilst London was on holiday, Vulpicula resigned from moderator and therefore left the server. This now puts London in a difficult position to try and search for a new helper.
An announcement was put out in the events announcement discord channel stating from London.. "Recent events have occured in the last couple of days, which unfortunately has placed me in a difficult position for the upcoming Pub Quiz. I can confirm that London's Pub Quiz Anniversary Special will be postponed for the time being". London has also stated that Pub Quizzes from now on will be scaled back to 4 rounds rather than 5, for simplifying the quiz entirely.
As London remains unsettled by recent events, it looks as if the next Pub Quiz won't be for some time until a new helper has been listed.
