LuminAria (also known by its full title, Disney's LuminAria) would have been a fireworks show presented at the Lillian Disney Amphitheatre in Konawa. LuminAria is a musical symphony of Christmas music accompanied by meticulously choreographed fireworks. It was to be the first show created exclusively for the MRT by Soleurs. The show was to be sponsored by Gregg Fyfe's Fish & Chips.
History
LuminAria was originally created in 2001 by a team at Walt Disney Creative Entertainment (led by renowned fireworks show designer Steve Davison, who would later go on to create Wishes} for the brand-new Disney's California Adventure park's first holiday season. Due to budgetary shortfalls from low attendance at Disney's California Adventure, the show only played for one season, from 9 November 2001 to 6 January 2002. The music was composed and conducted by Don Harper, and lead vocals were provided by Miriam Stockley. The show was originally set to debut as the first part of the A Christmas Fantasy 2016 trilogy of fireworks shows on 27 November 2016. Due to the lack of specific non-firework effects, the show was pushed back to 4 December 2016. On 3 December 2016, the show was cancelled for 2016 after it was revealed that the missing effects would be impossible to implement due to the amphitheatre stage's design. The show is planned to attempt a run during the 2017 holiday season.
