The MATA Airline Accreditation Awards was a planned awards event created by the MRT Air Transport Association, or MATA. The awards are part of the MATA mission statement to promote the airlines of the MRT through awarding the individual achievements of airlines.

Awards Process

Airline Registration

Any airline may receive an award that has at least one active flight. An active flight is defined as a flight which operates two-way service between at least two airports, including working warp signs with warps that are public to all players. This may be a flight done with any type of aircraft.

Any eligible airline may sign up prior to voting to be included on the voting form for the awards. On this form, the airline should indicate the awards they seek to win. No eligible airline will be excluded from participation in any awards category for any reason.

Airline registration will close at the discretion of the MATA, however the registration closing will be announced at least 24 hours in advance.

Categories

Airlines may receive awards in the following categories:

  • Best First Class
  • Best Business Class
  • Best Premium Economy Class
  • Best Economy Class
  • Best Ground Service
  • Best In-Flight Service
  • Best Routes & Destinations
  • Best Luxury Airline
  • Best Low-Cost Airline
  • Best Airline

Voting

Round one voting will last for a five day period. Airline registration will close one hour prior to the start of voting. Players will vote over a Google form to select which airlines they believe are deserving of each award. Players will be asked to give their username, with additional verification added to prevent voter fraud. Players who are found to be submitting false votes will have their votes not counted and their airline, if applicable, voided from receiving any awards.

After voting is complete, the top airlines will advance to a second round of voting, which will be another five day voting period. If there are six or more airlines in a category, the top three will advance to round two. If there are four or five airlines in a category, the top two will advance to round two. If there are three or less airlines in a category, there will not be a second round of voting. The airline with the most votes in round two is certified the winner of the category.

In the event of a tie in round two, a tiebreaker vote will be held to determine the winner.

For transparency purposes, the numeric results of voting will be available on the wiki once voting is closed.

Results

Following the voting, the results will be counted and the results will be posted on the wiki. Each airline which wins a category will be presented with a certificate for that category.
