The MRT Mail Centre, or simply MRT Mail, is a mail building in Spawn City constructed in 2012. It was in operation from 2012 to 2014, with the MRT Mail Hub replacing it on the New World. The MRT Mail Centre was built by thomasfyfe and LDShadowLord who founded and operated MRT Mail for a short while. Later on, additional players helped with the running of the service. The MRT Mail Centre went through several iterations, often adding in new P.O. Boxes when there is a shortage.
Infamously, the MRT Mail Staff played a joke on the community with a "book copier machine". It was set up to allow people to give their books to Mail Staff for them to be copied using redstone. In reality, the books were simply copied using WorldEdit, with the redstone being their as part of the joke. This fooled most of the community though.
Members also involved in the building development of the Mail Centre:
- chiefbozx - helped with the MRT Mail renovations.
- Omricon - designed the business P.O. box.
- nighthawk998 - development of a prototype minecart dispenser previously used in the deposit box.
Services included:
- P.O. Boxes - Any member is free to claim a P.O. box. To claim a P.O. box simply place a sign above the box with your name. You should check your mail regularly as some players may use this to contact you while you are offline.
- Library Deposit Box - The MRT Library is located across the road. Players who wish to have their book displayed in the library can send books through here securely to be considered.
- Business P.O. Boxes - These P.O. boxes are more secure than normal boxes. They are reserved for the use of businesses that deal with lots of mail.
- Anti-Ad List - Players who wish to opt out of advertisements being delivered to their P.O. box can add their name to this list. It also disconnects your P.O. box from the mass distribution system.
- Mass Distribution System - A player can fill up chests with their book and it will be delivered to all P.O. boxes (apart from those on the Anti-Ad list).
