The MRT Open Cup is an annual spleef tournament taking place around the server anniversary. It is organized by Major League Spleef and by extension jphgolf4321.

How to Register
1. Be available on weekends between June 30 and July 15.
2. Add yourself to the list of registered teams with a team name and a list of your up to three team members.
3. Wait for the tournament to start!
Rules
Rules for MRT Open matches are exactly the same as MLS rules with a few notable exceptions.
- Only snow blocks may be used as a playing surface.
- Timekeeping
- For the first and second rounds, matches will be played in a best-of-seven format, and teams will have no timeouts due to the match not being timed. However, in an emergency situation a team may pause the match. Rounds have a maximum time of five minutes. Once the five minutes expire, if nobody has won the round a random number generator will be used to decide the winner.
- For the quarterfinals, semifinals, and finals, matches will be played in standard MLS format.
- Draws and Overtime
- Due to the fact that the MRT Open is a tournament, there can be no draws.
- As such, in a quarterfinal, semifinal, or final match, a single round played under MLS sudden death rules will be played. If the five-minute timer expires before a winner can be determined, a random number generator will be used to determine the winner.
