MS Lake Emerald is an upcoming Ecstasy-class cruise ship operated by Nansei Cruise Lines. The ship is named after and the lead vessel of the Emerald-class, a subclass of the Ecstasy class. Upon completion, she is set to be the largest cruise ship in the world at over 108,360 GT, as well as the first LNG-powered cruise ship on the server.
History
On July 17, 2021, Azalea Shipbuilding announced that it had entered a partnership with Azalea Group with an order for five 200m Ecstasy-class cruise ships, two of which went to Nansei Cruise Lines.
On December 30, 2021, Lake Emerald’s keel was laid off-server, using an existing shell built by Azalea Shipbuilding on the same day. Construction continued into January 2022, by the time the interior was half-complete.
On January 3, 2022, Lake Emerald was finally completed with the fitting out of the sundecks and the funnel area. Lake Emerald underwent final checks for a week before being parked off-server for half a year.
Lake Emerald was pasted into its dock at Union Island on June 3, 2022 directly rather than going into a drydock. This was due to her gigantic size and that her own dedicated drydock (azaleathree) in Stone Bay was not completed at the time.
