Minecart Rapid Transit Wiki:Gamma
On October 4, 2014, Minecart Rapid Transit will switch from the original Alpha / Omega world to the Gamma world. Along with a fresh, new Minecraft world to play on, there are a bunch of policy changes that are being implemented along with the new world.
This page is pretty dense, but it covers absolutely everything you need to know about how the new world will work. If you have questions, please ask them on the discussion page.
Worlds
Let's face it, we've outgrown our little 6400 x 6400 world. In 2 years and 3 months, that's not bad. But it's time for a bigger world.
We've added not one, but four new worlds to the server. Including the original world, they are:
World | ID | Size |
---|---|---|
New MRT Overworld | new
|
20,000 x 20,000 |
Original MRT Overworld | old
|
6,400 x 6,400 |
Redstone Laboratories | lab
|
4,000 x 4,000 |
Outer Space | space
|
4,000 x 4,000 |
Games and Arenas | games
|
4,000 x 4,000 |
Transportation between worlds
Warps and portals will get you between worlds during normal gameplay. Homes, teleportation and command-based warps all work across worlds.
- In the
new
world, there are portals to all worlds located in Central Park. Follow the cracked stone brick from the spawn point, or take the elevator from X0 Central Park Z0 Central Park Central Park Station to level 4. - In the
old
world, a portal to thenew
will be installed in B13 G14 Y15 R7 Spawn Station. - In the
space
world, transporters to all worlds are located on level 13 of Star Base One (the main space station). - No portals are installed in the
games
orlab
worlds; you'll need to use/spawn
to get back to thenew
world.
Planes and buses can use warp signs to get you between worlds as well.

world
MRT Lines
There is an extensive network of MRT v5 stations and lines. A total of 15 lines are planned; 11 of which are built and ready for service at launch. These 11 lines are:
Status | Code | Station name | Central City hub | Number of Stations |
---|---|---|---|---|
A | Arctic | SW, NW | 34 | |
C | Circle | None. Access C1 BirchView via ZN13 BirchView or warp booth in Central Park Station | 119 | |
D | Desert | SW | 27 | |
F | Forest | NE, SE | 29 | |
I | Island | SE | 27 | |
M | Mesa | SE, SW | 33 | |
P | Plains | NW, NE | 31 | |
T | Taiga | NW | 40 | |
V | Valley | NE | 28 | |
X | Expo | SW, Central Park, NE | 56 | |
Z | Zephyr | NW, Central Park, SE | 41 |
In total there are 400 stations across these 11 lines. That's a lot of stations! If transfer stations are counted multiple times, there are 465 MRT platforms across the map.
The stations use a new MRT v5 station, which is designed to be more long than wide, use compact redstone and cart storage, and be easier to maintain. An MRT v5 video will be released soon to showcase the station and all of its features.
Central City
Central City is the city at the center of the new
world, similar to Spawn City on the old
world. Running /spawn
will bring you to (0, 0) in Central City. From there, you can take the X Foobar Expo or Z Foobar Zephyr lines to pretty much any MRT station on the server.
Central City is a 1,000 x 1,000 block city. There are many streets dividing it up into a grid. Players who meet specific requirements may build in one of the blocks or other designated areas of Central City. The city features all of the civic services from Spawn City (mail, admod building, bus terminal) as well as space for players to build their own skyscrapers.
Transit
Central City features four MRT hubs, one in each corner. There is also an MRT station underneath Central Park.
10 out of 11 launch lines pass through or terminate in Central City. The Circle Line is the only launch line which does not go to Central City.
Aside from the X Foobar Expo and Z Foobar Zephyr Lines, four lines serve two hubs: the A Foobar Arctic, F Foobar Forest, M Foobar Mesa, and P Foobar Plains. These lines have stations between the hubs as well, to provide additional connections.
- A0 Central City — Inchmuir Street Inchmuir Street, on the west side of the city
- F0 Central City — Ravenswood Avenue Bleakwood Avenue, on the east side of the city
- MH Central City — Hill Street Hill Street, on the south side of the city
- MW Central City — Wishington Avenue Wishington Avenue, on the south side of the city
- P0 Central City — Eisitasi Avenue Eisitasi Avenue, on the north side of the city
There is a bus terminal near F0 Central City — Ravenswood Avenue Bleakwood Avenue Station, at Delvin Street and Bleakwood Avenue.
Third-party lines are not allowed in Central City; only the MRT will be used to provide rail service in and out.
There is a metro system being planned for Central City. Two surface tram lines are complete: the Yellow Line, which travels around Central Park, and the Cyan Line, which travels between the southeast and northwest hubs.
Park
The center 250x250 region is a park, which only staff are allowed to build in. An MRT station is buried deep within the ground of the park, but other than that no structures are permitted.
The purpose of the park is to create a low-lag environment upon joining, by removing lag-inducing signs and redstone from the spawn area. Some basic information about the server will be posted in sign form on a board upon joining, however the majority of information will be in written books in-game.
To accommodate for players wishing to access the hubs and outer terminus stations of the MRT lines, warp booths are available at levels 1 and 2 of the MRT station. There are warps to all MRT line terminus stations, as well as some notable builds such as the marina.
Ranks
The rank ladder is being completely overhauled. Players will be able to achieve new ranks based on the construction of their city or town and the support of staff members and members of the community.
Guest
The Guest rank is the most basic rank. Players receive this rank upon joining the server. Guests can explore most areas of the server, including areas in all Multiverse worlds.
Guests can:
- Explore most areas of the server.
- Change their game mode.
- Drive uCars and purchase uFuel.
- Play the lottery.
- Pay other players, and receive payments.
- Receive money for time spent online.
- Use redstone control devices such as buttons, levers, and pressure plates.
- Use hoppers via world interaction (dropping items in by pressing 'q').
- Use elevators.
- Use the MRT system.
