History
The cruise line was founded on June 10 as an Azalea subsidiary for older ships to go to. It acquired four older ships, which it then used on routes in the Mokupuni Islands.
Like other Azalea Group members, Mokupuni Cruises is one of the only cruise lines serving Azalea Cay.
On December 30th, following Airplaneguy9's resignation as Azalea Group's co-CEO, STthecat, the other CEO of Azalea Group, Azalea Cruises and Zee Village became the new CEO of Mokupuni Cruises.

Accidents and incidents
- On 17 July 2011, the Mokupuni Sea hit a reef while doing a nighttime departure from Anuanu. The ship listed almost 70 degrees, and sunk 3 hours afterwards, killing 18 of the 112 onboard. Blame was placed on the crew, who had not been paying attention at the time of the incident, and all crew onboard were dismissed, including two who faced criminal charges of negligence and imprisoned for 10 years each in 2012. The ship was later surfaced and is now stored in the Wenyanga Cruise Ship Museum.
