Ronald "Mac" McDonald, aged 43, and Frank Reynolds, aged 77, were two villagers who worked at Paddy's Pub in Keriyowna who were fatally stabbed and mutilated in the early morning hours of August 15, 2020, while closing the pub.

Murder

After hearing faint screaming, a Keriyowna police officer walked into the pub only to find Mac and Frank laying dead on the floor. The next day, the alleged perpetrator was arrested in Shenghua, a man from Totem Beach named Crimson V. Master.

Arrest of Fox

At the October 2020 Trustee Meeting, Fox was sentenced to 200 years behind bars at the maximum security cell of St. Helena Island, with no chance of appeal. He had been tracked down and arrested by the Nansei-Gunto government after his escape from Keriyowna, and had been locked up since his arrest.

Confession and murder of Ondrej Distø II

On 15 August 2021, one year after the murders, 63-year-old Ondrej Distø II confessed to the murders on social media site 8chan:

"I would rather spend Fox's two-hundred year sentence in prison, than hear about this ridiculous deep-state ever again. It was me. I killed Mac McDonald and Frank Reynolds. I am not proud of it, but it was my last chance to get rid of the National Party. I am now sacrificing myself for the Federated States."

Distø was shot and killed in Beachview hours after the confession. As a result, Fox is now awaiting a re-sentence, which is due to reduce his sentence by 50 years and remove 2 counts of hate crime and 2 counts of 1st degree murder. He is set to remain in prison for mass corruption, treason, and grand theft.

Aftermath and reactions

A community vigil was done in front of the pub and in front of the Worrski Fountain on Charlotte Street. The LGBT+ community in Keriyowna was shocked, as McDonald was an openly gay man[1]. There was also a tension between the two cities, as it was believed that Master was sent by the Totem Beach government after they complained about Keriyowna dropping out of the Cnidarian Civil War. It was also revealed that Frank Reynolds was an active person in multiple online furry communities[2]. This of course shocked people, as Totem Beach is a very pro-furry community. Members of the furry community in Totem Beach started to protest in Vulpine Park. Crimson V. Master, whose real name is Crimson Fox, is indicted of 2 counts of hate crime, 2 counts of 1st degree murder, and 2 counts of treason, from the murder alone.

Memorials

Several days after the murders occurred, the Bark Memorial was constructed in Shenghua by mi_aquamarine and crimsonf0x, close to where Fox was arrested for allegedly committing the crime. The Bark Memorial has been the centre of controversy ever since, with multiple attempts at stealing books about the incident from the memorial's lecterns. Multiple buildings in Shenghua are named after McDonald and Reynolds, most notably the Shenghua Frank Reynolds Heliport, which opened on 10 March 2021.

On 23 September 2020, one month after the murders, McDonald and Reynolds were buried in Wilson Park (then known as Gira Park) alongside a permanent memorial. 200 people were present at the funeral, including the families of the victims and the mayor of Keriyowna.
