NASKart (short for National Association for Kart racing) is a sport on the MRT involving racing, and hosts tournaments on a regular basis. Each tournament consists of three courses, which are randomly picked from the pool of registered courses. The tournaments use a simple scoring system, with the winner getting a relatively large grand prize, often as high as $500.

Scoring System

NASKart's scoring system awards racers a certain number of points depending on how well they do (chart seen below, anything after 5th place gets 0 points.)

Place 1st 2nd 3rd 4th 5th 6th
Points +9 +6 +3 +2 +1 +0

The winner of the tournament is whoever has the most points at the end of the third race. If there's a tie, a simple one lap race of whatever course the two tied players wishes will be played out, until the winner is decided. In this instance it's a simple "first past the finish line wins" case.

History

NASKart was founded by Vulpicula and CaptLincoln after a prototype tourney was held on June 22nd, 2018, as a way to create more tournaments like this.

Racetracks

NASKart's tournament system allows for up to three courses from the following list to be played out. NASKart tournaments favours easier courses at the start of the tournament, with harder courses at the end of the tournament. Courses are also judged based on quality and difficulty, and are then scored with a grade. Higher grade courses are more likely to be picked, and a course must score at least a D to get into the accepted course register. Courses are divided into six difficulties and five rankings:

  • Very Easy for simple figure 8’s and loops
  • Easy for simple courses with a more advanced, but still basic layout.
  • Normal for courses with more advanced turns and narrow roads.
  • Hard for courses with lots of turns with narrow roads and ramps.
  • Very Hard for courses with lots of ramps you can fly out of and narrow roads
  • Insane for the hardest courses with little room for error, if they are picked it is usually on the end of a tournament.

Course Requirements

To submit a course or your town for a course to be made, contact Vulpicula after making sure whatever it is you're submitting meets the following guidelines.

  • No use of carpets on roads.
  • At least six blocks wide.
  • Fully uCar drive-able.

From there I can look at your town/course, make the changes it needs (if any), and hopefully add it to the list of accepted courses.
