Neverta is the eastern-most state in Meridia. It is bordered by Maricopa to the west, and free territory to the north, east, and south. It is the largest landlocked state in the country, ahead of Satellia. The majority of Neverta's population live in Cooper County in the New Prubourne metropolitan area, where the capital and largest city of the state is, New Prubourne.
It is known as the Diamond State for the state's diamond and gold mining history, most famously the Diamond Rush of 1792. It was admitted into Meridia on January 28th, 2023 after gaining permission from FredTheTimeLord and jay_planner for their towns. A week before its admittance the B46 highway was built between Rattlerville and New Prubourne linking the future state to the rest of the country, also linking the MRT Island Line and MRT Valley Line. The name Neverta is a portmanteau of the real life American state Nevada and the Canadian province of Alberta, where its founder Spegit lives.
History (Lore)
Early Inhabitants
The first inhabitants of what is now Neverta were the Aqasiju people who came from the San Jacino Valley in 498 BC. They founded small settlements in the sparse savannah biomes throughout the Neverta Desert and were mostly a stationary people. They united with the Notizetan peoples of the North Meridian Plain and founded the state of Notesia. What is now Neverta served very little purpose to the small state and was only used for lumber.
Colonization
In 1512 Gamman colonists from Central City overthrew the Notesion King Juekal II and the former state was divided into multiple provinces. The Province of Neverta was established, but there was a small population as the native peoples were driven out and there were no valuable resources in the desert. Over the next century the Centrallian Empire raised taxes very high due to the recent war with Bratleind.
Independence
In 1634 many settlers in the North Meridian Plain were fed up with the high taxes by Central City and revolted, separating from the empire and forming the country of Meridia in 1662 after a 30 year war with the Centrallian Empire. Neverta was still a colony of Centrallia and did not secede, eventually being taking over by the Bratliesh Empire in 1730. In 1750, gold was discovered in the Prubourne River, and thousands of people rushed to Neverta to get gold. The situation got so big the Bratliesh had to create a police force, the Royal Bratliesh Colonial Police (RBCP) to enforce rules on the rushers. The gold rush eventually lost popularity, and many people left the colony to return home, however some stayed and founded Neverta's future capital New Prubourne and other towns like Sycamore and Goodsprings. New Prubourne's population grew to 400 in 1780, and grew to 700 by the turn of the 19th century.
Joining Meridia
Neverta alongside Maricopa were sold by the Bratliesh Empire to Meridia as states in 1801 due to the Empire's heavy debt, and New Prubourne was chosen as the capital of the new state. Throughout the 19th century the state grew in population and wealth, and descendants of rich gold rushers were at the top of the Nevertan Banking Corporation, which held Đ1,000,000 in stocks.
Early 20th Century and January Revolution
In the early 1900s, working conditions across the country were often harsh, with many working for long hours and without proper food. In order to combat the problem, the National Labor Union was formed in 1922 by working class activists, which led to the formation of the Labor Party. However, in the late 1920s, the party became corrupt and ineffective, and the National Labor Union fell apart. The government, still afraid of the labor movement, began passing laws that prevented it from organizing. As a result, the Labor Party was banned in 1938. Many workers began to feel disillusioned and unhappy with the government, forming the Meridian Socialist Labor Party in 1939. The Meridian Socialist Labor Party gained many supporters and was able to gain the confidence of the working class. After this, the government began to view the Meridian Socialist Labor Party as a threat. Nevertan members of the party like John Hostons famously approached the Meridian Senate in 1940 and reportedly jumped into the hall as meetings were taken place and shouted at the senators for lower taxes and worker relief. He was arrested and was given a 2 year sentence for breaking into federal property, as well as disrupting federal meetings. His sentence was cut short by the Langley Reforms in 1943 when Alexander Langley dissolved the republic and established the Meridian SFR.
Socialist Neverta
Neverta immediately spiked in capital in the weeks after the Socialist Republic's founding from 235 million dache to 2.4 billion. The Nevertan people were given higher welfare and lower taxes. Life expectancy also increased with the abolishing of child labour and free healthcare. New Prubourne's first hospital, New Prubourne General Hospital, opened in 1945 and citizens were very happy with their lives. Starting in 1967, the federal government began to liberalize the economy. The government began to let citizens own land, and let workers own and control their businesses under a policy of workers' self-management. These reforms were intended to allow the economy to grow and attract foreign investment. This also led to increased exports and a growing industrial sector, which resulted in the national GDP growing to Đ344.8 billion in 1968. Neverta became a mining site for gold, andesite, and stone, and founded the Neverta Ministry of Transportation in 1976 after the government decentralized the federal ministry.
In 1983 President Langley died at the age of 85 and was succeeded by Ricardo Santos, who in 1989 allowed other parties in the federal election for the first time. In 1990 Ontarian candidate Scott Martin was elected president and his first order was to dissolve the SFR and re-instate the Republic of Meridia, which he did in June of that year.
Modern History
Scott Martin's administration used shock therapy to transition Meridia's economy to a market economy, however the the fast privatization of government organizations and industries led to a severe recession. The recession lasted for three years, and the GDP decreased to Đ367.2 billion in 1993. The recession was characterized by high inflation, impoverishment, and unemployment. Many Nevertans were unhappy with his presidency in the 1994 Election and elected Mark Anderson, whose plans were to grow the economy back to its 1980s peak and focus on tourism and more industry. These factors helped to spark the Meridian Miracle in 1996, a period of rapid economic growth which caused the economy to skyrocket at a rate of 19% a year until 2005. This brought the GDP from Đ468.5 billion in 1996 to Đ2.3 trillion in 2005. Neverta had a high GDP of Đ2.3 million in 2005, and had high focus on the mining industry and tourism. In 2006 Anderson was succeeded by Victor Wilson, the oldest President in the Republic at the age of 82. His administration promoted less government spending and many companies were privatized. A poll in 2009 indicated 85% of Nevertans did not like Wilson's reign, and a Birching terrorist, John Oposon assassinated Wilson at his presidential home in Alberton in 2010. Many mourned Wilson's passing but still disliked his presidency. Oposon was arrested and is serving a 24-year sentence for the assassination. Wilson was followed by vice president Ethan Matsumoto under the Social Democratic party. Matsumoto's administration was characterized by an increase in funding for healthcare and transportation institutions, as well as a decrease in the tax rate for the poor. In addition, he introduced social policies to assist the poor and decrease homelessness. In his personal time, Matsumoto would travel across the country to talk with citizens in an attempt to strengthen the relationship between the people and the government. In addition, the president chose to live in a residences outside the cities he went to instead of the presidential house during his term, marking another first. His second house was in New Prubourne. Matsumoto has been described as a "servant of the people," and has continued to do such until his second term ended in 2018.
History
After getting San Francisco to Governor, Spegit decided to make a new town. She decided to make the town, New Prubourne, near Maricopa, the easternmost state of Meridia at the time, and realized nobody claimed the area for any country or state. She drew up a plan for a new state of Meridia, which included FredTheTimeLord's and Jay Planner's towns of Princeton Junction and Sycamore, respectively. She got their permission and submitted the state proposal to the Meridian government, who accepted it and Neverta became a state on January 28, 2023, with the capital being New Prubourne.
After statehood in January 2023, Spegit made plans for a highway that would connect the newly founded Neverta to Rattlerville in Maricopa. She numbered it the B46 and sent a map to kingsnake, who approved the plan and offered to build some of the road as well. The B46 was submitted to staff and was accepted on January 23, 2023. The road started construction the same day and was finished less than a week later on the 31st. The road was built by Spegit and kingsnake.
The state has plans to build new towns in currently empty areas like Southplain County.
Geography
Neverta is mostly desert, with the Nevertan Desert stretching from its Northeast to the Southwest. Two large savannah biomes, the North and South Nevertan Savannahs, and sparse plains biome patches along rivers.

Transportation
Road
Neverta has three highways, two of which are major highways connecting to the rest of the New World Highway system, and one is a local ring road.

Rail
Fred Rail operates a railway line from Princeton Junction to Enterprise that cuts through the western part of the state. The line continues down to Newark after leaving Meridia.
Air
There are only two air facilities in the state, West Sands Heliport and New Prubourne International Airport, both in New Prubourne.
