Northern Trail
The Northern Trail is a footpath on the Old World spanning from Spawn City to the Redstoneless Metro Service Grandstand in Fairfax. It was mainly constructed by Frumple and jphgolf4321 during the Alpha era, spanning approximately 2,200 blocks. Frumple constructed the path from Spawn City to Chesterfield, while jphgolf4321 built the rest of the path to Fairfax with Frumple's blessing.
The Northern Trail is made of mainly brick, with iron blocks, glowstone, and nether brick fences acting as barriers to the path. Portions of the trail have been redone by numerous other players due to expansion of projects, among other reasons.
Route
The Northern Trail visits the following cities: Spawn City (where it visits Spawn Station, MRT Library, the MRT Mail Centre, and the MRT Bus Depot), Owasso, Bloomington, the Redstone Gaming Centre, Robin's Hill, Chesterfield, Big Lake, Alturas, and Fairfax.
The footpath directly crosses through Fairfax-Atlanta Metropolitan Airport below a bullet train line. This potion has been redone multiple times due to the construction of the bullet train line and the airport.
Impact
The footpath, along with the bullet train line, has caused major issues with the construction of the Fairfax-Atlanta Metropolitan Airport, as both ran diagonally through the airport's tarmac. As a result, the airport remains largely unfinished.
Adjacent to the Northern Trail near Big Lake was a disused air facility constructed in 2013. It later became refurbished by Cortesi to become a functioning airfield accessible from the footpath. The path is the namesake of the airport.
