The Polytan National Transportation Authority (PNTA) is a non-profit organization providing, maintaining and governing public transportation services and infrastrucuture for the Republic of Polytan. It is under direct state ownership and headquartered in the country's capital, Palestropol.
History
The PNTA was first established in late 2018, with the creation of the no longer existing Palestro Metro, as the Palestropol National Transporation Authority. The current name came into effect with the founding of Polytan as a regional MPO in 2019. The Palestro Metro was overhauled several times, before the half-finished network was abandoned. One warprail line (Rockley–Southport) was also built under PNTA governance, but has since been transferred to GreenRail.
As of Summer 2022, a new subway system is under construction, which is planned to serve most of the country's cities.
