Ravenswood University is a small university located in the north quarter of Ravenswood at the Grand Avenue and Churchill Avenue intersection. The Ocelot is the university's mascot. It has granted degrees in majors of chemistry, electrical engineering, urban planning, ecology, and economy. It has several annex buildings spread through the city. They include:

  • Ravenswood University Redstone Labs is a university lab focused on allowing students of RU to develop redstone mechanisms for their personal or corporate uses. Open to the public. It is located at the intersection of Ravenswood Parkway and Norfolk Avenue. It is curated by beeskee. Please remember to follow posted and verbal rules.
  • RU Ocelot Preserve is a preserve built by donations from Pacifica Transit and Raven Land Holdings, Incorporated to ensure there will always be a ocelot in Ravenswood as a long as Ravenswood University is in operation. Located in the south quarter of Ravenswood, the Ocelot Preserve is home to three ocelots. It also is where you can read up on the ecology of the surrounding areas, and why Ocelots, hunted near extinction, was once a important part of Ravenswood.
  • Norfolk Hall: dorms for RU Students
  • Old Hollis Amphitheater: Home of the RU's Drama Program, this theater was donated from Hollis Swamps and moved block-by-block. It is part of the Ravenswood River Theatre District in Downtown Ravenswood.

Achievements conducted at RU includes:

  • First automated intra-city mail delivery (to be installed in majority of already-built Ravenswood buildings by December 2013, and mandatory in any new Ravenswood buildings starting November 26, 2013)

This facility was established as a public redstone research lab and example lab. Individuals and corporations are welcome to claim part of or all of a floor. The theme is a place for university students to learn about redstone, so exhibits are encouraged to be public, open, and interactive. The ceiling height is limited, so creators are encouraged to build interactive examples of the principles behind their work if the build height does not allow for a full demonstration. A higher ceiling height is available on B9, Floor 1, for large examples, but space is limited. On all project workspaces, the floor may be modified if needed. The ceiling is the floor of the next floor up and should be modified with extreme caution only after reviewing the above floors to make sure no projects or examples are disrupted.

Current Projects

Projects can be suggested by anyone, and worked on by anyone. There is a space for signs on the wall nearest the elevator, or projects may be posted here.

Floor 10 - Lobby

A lobby with a soda machine, casual seating, and a research grant office operated by the Research-O-Tron 9001.

Students seeking a research grant should approach the machine with all due respect. The machine knows all. The machine is always right.


Floor 9 - Ravenswoods Labs Student Build Area - Basement 1

This area is reserved for students of Ravenswood University. It has a higher ceiling height and additional space. Projects constructed here should be considered temporary. Permanent examples should be moved to lower floors.

Note: Nearby businesses may find this area intrudes onto their basement space. This is an opportunity, as you are more than welcome to expand downward to establish an additional storefront in this area, so as to serve the hungry and thirsty students of the nearby university. Builders are encouraged to build into the wall as much as possible to reserve space for student projects.


Floor 8 - Examples - Basement 2

This floor includes a number of simple redstone examples. Most items are directly from the basic Minecraft redstone logic wiki. Every example possible has been made interactive, so students can explore the principles behind how these work.

This floor is dedicated to more redstone examples. More complex examples are encouraged here.

This space is available to temporary projects which need a taller build height, and dedicated examples which require a taller build height.
