The Amazing Race 5 is the fifth season of The Amazing Race. It featured teams of one in a race around the world for a $1,000 grand prize. This season was the series' first "mini" season, where teams of one race with small tweaks in format.
The season occurred on August 14, 2016.
mine_man_ won this season of The Amazing Race.
Production
Development

The season was announced on the Wiki on August 13, 2016, where it was stated that it would "on the spot" all in one day.
The season was all planned all prior to its announcement, unlike any prior season. This season featured only Roadblocks and no Detours. Additionally, this is the first season with no U-Turn.
This season spanned nine towns over two worlds, with first-time visits to the Old World towns of Ravenswood, Jones Beach, and Chokster City.

Leg 1 (Whitechapel ➝ Kenthurst)

At the Starting Line of The Amazing Race 5, which took place at White Point Chapel, racers were told to race to their first destination, Kenthurst. There, teams were to find the Kottle Fountain.
Upon arriving in Kenthurst, the Roadblock asked "Ready to climb?". Racers had to complete the parkour up the lighthouse to enter from the top to receive their next clue.
The clue then instructed racers to go find the Kenthurst Boat Grand Prix, where they would find boats and their clue that instructed them to get in a boat and it down to the first Pit Stop, Kenthurst Fort. If a a racer broke both of their given boats, they would have to walk the rest of the way to the Pit Stop.
Leg 2 (Kenthurst ➝ Elecna Bay)

At the start of the leg, racers were informed to make their way to Elecna Bay and find Elecna Bay Park, and search it for their next clue.
Once there, racers encountered a Roadblock, asking "Ready to stick a landing?". Racers made their way to the 69th Catronics store and had to head to the top of the building. Once on top, a racer had to jump off and land into the seaport CEO office, which was a one block hole with water. Once landing inside, racers were instructed to head to #thedress Lighthouse.
Upon arrival to the lighthouse, racers headed inside and found a clue that instructed teams to head to the top of the lighthouse and scour the surrounding scenery for an Race flag somewhere in the close proximity then to head there for their clue. The flag was placed inside a Ocean Bar & Grill behind stained glass panes, and inside was the clue.
The clue inside the restaurant led racers to the Pit Stop at Remembrance Park, near the Elecna Bay International Airport.
Leg 3 (Elecna Bay ➝ Ravenswood)

At the start of the leg, racers were informed to make their way to the Old World and get to the quaint town Ravenswood and find the Norfolk War Memorial Monument.
Once there, racers encountered a Roadblock, asking "Ready to get lost in reading?". Racers had to find the Ravenswood University and go behind the counter and fall down into a hole. In the hole, there was a bookcase maze. In the bookcase maze, there was a clue box and a warp out that allowed people to teleport out and back to the main floor.
The clue led racers to the Pit Stop at the Old Hollis Amphitheater.
Leg 4 (Ravenswood ➝ Kitania)

At the start of the leg, racers were informed to make their way to Kitania and find Kitania Transylvania Station.
Once there, racers encountered a Roadblock, asking "Ready to dig dig dig?". Racers had to use diamond shovels to dig out leftover snow from Winter Storm Sharkeisha and find a chest with materials and their next clue. The clue led racers to the Pit Stop from The Amazing Race 2. There, racers were instructed to travel to the Kitania Space Center.
At the Space Center, teams encountered yet another Roadblock, asking "Ready to drive?". Racers had to use the blocks retrieved from the first Roadblock of the leg and replicate a vehicle. Once correctly replicated, racers got their next clue, leading to the Pit Stop at Seabright in western Kitania.
Leg 5 (Kitania ➝ Spawn City)

At the start of the leg, racers were informed to make their way to Spawn City by plane and fly to Western Ocean International Airport in Arlington.
After traveling from the airport to Spawn City, racers had to find the Spawn City Animal Rental where a donkey held a clue. The clue led racers to travel to Studio Chief, where The Snapshot was formerly filmed. That clue then led racers to ComputerGhost's Redstone Solutions
There, racers encountered a Roadblock, asking "Ready to test your falling aim?". Racers had to fall from the top of the building and while falling, hit one of three targets to receive their next clue. The next clue led teams to the Pit Stop, the Arch Tower.
Leg 6 (Spawn City ➝ Jones Beach)

At the start of the leg, racers were informed to make their way to Jones Beach and find the city hall, which was made out of diamonds.
After traveling there, racers found the Roadblock asking "Ready to count?" Racers had to count the number of a certain wool color exactly to receive their next clue. The clue then led to the Music's Gems.
There, racers encountered another Roadblock, asking "Ready to love ladders?". Racers had to complete ladder parkour on the side of the Music's Gems tower. At the top, racers would find their next clue.
The clue led teams to the Pit Stop, which was on a small island in the west named Riverside Island.
Leg 7 (Jones Beach ➝ Chokster City ➝ Whitechapel)

At the start of the leg, racers were informed to make their way to Chokster City and find the AlliCorps building. Once there, racers found a clue that directed them to their final destination at the same city as the starting line, Whitechapel. Racers had to take a flight from Chokster City Borderline Airport to Whitechapel Sky Harbor.
Upon landing in Whitechapel, racers had to find the city hall for their next clue. Once there, they were directed to use the map given at the beginning of the leg. Upon usage, racers saw the words "Plaza of Champions" with an arrow written on the map (on top of a building), directing them to that location.
At the Plaza of Champions, racers encountered a Roadblock, asking "Remember the first tip?". Referring back to leg one, racers were told to always look up. Searching in Whitechapel BART Stadium, racers had to look up to find the words hidden in pillars, which referred to Whitechapel Downs.
At Whitechapel Downs, racers encountered a Roadblock, "Ready to take the reins?". Racers had to correctly remember the towns visited in the race in the correct order. Racers had to search through horses to find ones named to the corresponding city and place them in the correct order. The trick with the challenge was that Whitechapel needed to be at the beginning and at the end of the sequence. The next clue led teams to the Finish Line on the nearby Columbia Island.
