The Not A Van Challenge

The Not A Van Challenge is a challenge based on The Van Challenge in which players must attempt to find a van vehicle that is not a van hidden somewhere on the server.

If you find the van not a van, contact KittyCat11231. The first person to find it wins $15.

The challenge is run by Roy Disney Interactive.

Staff powers are not allowed. This includes teleporting to worldguard regions, the /tp command, and vanishing on dynmap. That means you, Yoshi. Private warps and homes are allowed. You cannot follow other players.

  • Try checking north of a premier city. I was going to take a flight but decided against it.
  • I had to get my van on a bus to continue. I bribed the bus driver to take me there, but he didn't change one of the destination signs when he got back. He's parked at the end of a road.
  • I tried to stop for gas but the road was closed by the police. Try asking the agent.
  • Spot the difference.
  • The road to Merchant City was never finished! They should build it to Ashmore instead.
  • When I said I wasn't going to take a flight earlier, I changed my mind later.
  • Started on the old world now we're here.
 The clues formed a sequence that eventually lead to the van not a van:
  • Llamapolis is on the old world north of a Premier city. The first physical clue was in Llamapolis near the airport.
  • One of the buses in Llamapolis has its sign changed to "North Edge", directing players to North Edge.
  • In North Edge, players had to go to the Petrol Canada gas station, which was closed by KIA agents as part of The Quest For Santa adventure map. The clue was in a chest next to an agent.
  • Players had to spot the difference between the adventure map clue books and one book that was renamed "Elecna Bay".
  • In Elecna Bay, the van not a van was hidden at gate A3 of Elecna Bay's airport, hence the clues about Ashmore (station A3 on the Arctic Line) and the road to Merchant City (numbered A3).

  • At the time, C111's entrance was blocked because of poor placement when the Circle Line was built.

  • As part of my work ethic I choose not to cut corners.
  • In Nippia there was a decoy, which said to check the void. In the void the letters "ZQR" were spelled in glowstone, leading players to Zaquar. At the 125th Music's Gems in Zaquar, there was a puzzle that eventually led to the clue "WHERE U STARTED", leading players back to Nippia. In Nippia, there was a police car renamed to "NOT A VAN".
  • In Zaquar there was a sea lantern sign to lead players to the Music's Gems. On the back there was a sign saying the not a van was in Saint Roux, which was false. If players had "cut corners" and skipped the puzzle to go to Saint Roux, they would have found a fake decoy.

  • There is an image in the video showing a plane in Whitechapel. In the lower right of the screen the letters "navc" are written in a similar color to the background. At the plane, a sign directs to Eden.
  • The image of the plane in Whitechapel was 8 seconds in.
  • The text on the screen showed the initials of the challenge, making it an obvious clue once found.
  • A similar Not A Van Challenge took place on 2/6/2016, in which "navc" was written on a sign in the background of a screenshot in a video.
  • The image in the last clue shows a graphic referred to as a "lower third". The "navc" wordmark was in the lower third of the video in the first clue.

In the original video, the corresponding time of said time stamp is in Cyra with a bridge arch in the background. On the bridge arch a sign directs to the Fairfax Northern Cross, where the van not a van was located.

  • On the April Fools Day version of felineholdings.com, a "Click here to crash your browser" link would cause an infinite loop. Several messages would be logged to the console, including directions to the exact location of the van not a van.
