Trojan Valley is a secluded region in an unspecified location. It was originally contested by the City-State of Kitania and the Lacledic Republic, and served as a PvP battleground between the two states. However, upon a ceasefire agreement between Kitania and Laclede, an invasion of the valley was launched by the Free State of Kitania, and the battle became a theater in the Kitania Civil War.

Located in a distant, uncharted location somewhat beyond the reaches of the new world, the Trojan Valley was discovered by explorers in September 2017. The City-State of Kitania, enticed by the secluded haven the Trojan Valley could provide for its more covert activities, laid claim to the valley. However, the Lacledic Republic, seeking to extract the region's abundant natural resources, claimed the area as well. The two states, otherwise longtime allies, clashed, fighting for control in the First War for Trojan Valley. The Kitanians based their operations in their settlement of Northwatch, on the north side of the valley, while Laclede operated out of Outpost Troy, on the south side. The two sides frequently clashed over the course of a year, each attempting to secure control of the valley, but neither gaining tactical control over the other.

In September 2018, the City-State of Kitania and the Lacledic Republic agreed to a ceasefire in the First War, as they allied to fight the Free State of Kitania, a separatist group consisting of elements of the Kitania Intelligence Agency which declared itself a state in October 2017 and took control of the Kitanian city of Zaquar in a coup détat against the Kitanian government, and has been at civil war with the Kitanians ever since. The Lacledic Republic previously had provided support to the Free State of Kitania in exchange for support in its effort against the Kitanians in the Trojan Valley, and its switching of sides prompted the Free Kitanian's kidnapping and attempted assassination of the Lacledic Chancellor, who was rescued by a special operations team of the KIA.

In October 2018, in retaliation against the new Kitanian-Lacledic alliance, the Free State of Kitania launched a surprise invasion of the Trojan Valley. Heavy duty explosives were used by the Free Kitanian army to blast their way through a mountain pass leading to the valley. The Free Kitanian army began its invasion into the Lacledic settlement of Outpost Troy, forcing the Lacledic army into retreat and leaving the Kitanians to defend the valley from the Free Kitanian onslaught. The invasion marked the beginning of the Second War for Trojan Valley.

Geography

The Trojan Valley is a valley which was originally enclosed by mountains on all sides, with no visible way on foot in or out of the valley, however a mountain pass into the valley was opened up with the Free State of Kitania's invasion through the use of explosives and military grade equipment. There are two main settlements at the far ends of the valley, the City-State of Kitania's settlement of Northwatch and the Lacledic Republic's settlement of Outpost Troy, the entry point of the Free State of Kitania's invasion. Each settlement has a main keep, a medical center, a recruitment center, and miscellaneous other facilities, and is guarded by a large wall on its border. Further into the valley are three small villages, each with a few small buildings, a village hall, and an aid station, which were settled by the original indigenous people of the valley. Trojan Village is located in the middle of the valley, while the village of Athenia is further north, and Cyprus is further south.

Objective

Currently, the Trojan Valley functions as a PvP battleground involving an attacking and defending force. The Free State of Kitania is the attacking team in the battle, while the City-State of Kitania is the defending team. The battle is on a 20 minute timer, and the Free Kitanian army must seize control of the valley before the timer runs out, after which Kitanian reinforcements arrive and the City-State of Kitania will have successfully defended the Trojan Valley.

The battle is fought in three stages. The first stage is the fight for Outpost Troy, the point of entry for Free Kitania's invasion of the valley. The Free Kitanian team must pull down a lever inside Fort Achilles, the main fort of the Lacledic army, to make an assault on the base. The Kitanian team must defend Outpost Troy by keeping the lever flipped upwards. During this stage of the battle, the exit from Outpost Troy is blocked by a gate, and is not passable by the Free Kitanian team. After the Free Kitanian team has held the lever down for one straight minute, Outpost Troy is captured by Free Kitania, and the gates of Outpost Troy fall, allowing the Free Kitanian team to continue its advance into the valley.

The second stage of the battle is the fight for the villages. The villages start under Kitanian control, and may be captured and recaptured by both teams. The Free Kitanian team must capture all three villages and maintain control of them for one straight minute, after which they will have won the fight for the villages. The Kitanian team's objective is to prevent the Free Kitanian team from taking control of the villages for the duration of this stage. Until this point, the Kitanian settlement of Northwatch will remain gated off, inaccessible to the Free Kitanian team. Once Free Kitania has won the fight for the villages, the gates of Northwatch fall, and the Free Kitanian team makes its final advance northward.

The final stage is the fight for Northwatch, the Kitanian settlement in the Trojan Valley. The Free Kitanian team must make its final assault on Northwatch by pulling down a lever inside Northwatch Garrison, while the Kitanian team must make its final defense by keeping the lever flipped up. After the Free Kitanian team has held the lever down for one straight minute, Northwatch is captured by Free Kitania, and the Free State of Kitania will have won the battle and captured the valley.

If the Free Kitanian team fails to complete all the objectives and capture the valley within 20 minutes, Kitanian reinforcements will arrive to bolster Kitania's defenses and drive the Free Kitanians out of the valley, resulting in a failure of the invasion and victory for the City-State of Kitania.

Historical

Previously, while the Trojan Valley remained a battlefield between the City-State of Kitania and the Lacledic Republic during the First War, the valley was a two team PvP capture the flag battleground. The goal for each team was to capture the opposing team's banner, while successfully defending their own. The first team to capture their opponent's banner would win. Each team's banner was located in their main keep in their respective settlement, Northwatch Garrison in Northwatch for the Kitanians, and Fort Achilles in Outpost Troy for the Lacledians. To capture the banner, teams had to enter the opposing keep, remove the banner from its pedestal, and bring it back to their own keep and place it on the appropriate pedestal. Teams also had to defend their own banner from being captured. In order to capture the opposing team's banner, a team's own banner had to remain on their own pedestal. While holding the opposing team's banner, team members had to be holding the banner visibly in their hand. Teams could also capture the the villages located in the valley, and the side controlling a village would gain access to its aid station. When players died, they would respawn in one of their team’s controlled aid stations, either the one in their main keep or one in a village their team has captured. Therefore, capturing villages allowed a team to respawn in a location closer to their opponent’s keep.

Joining the Battle

The City-State of Kitania is looking for new recruits to defend the Trojan Valley against the recent incursion, and the Free State of Kitania is seeking recruits to assist in the invasion of the valley. Recruits wishing to fight for the City-State of Kitania may visit the recruitment stand in Nippia, and recruits wishing to fight for the Free State of Kitania may visit the recruitment stand in Zaquar.
