Bechtel

Bechtel is a town located on the intersection of LW23 and T62 of the Lakeshore and Taiga line, in the north of the New World. The town was inaugurated at the July 2020 GSM following the opening of the Lakeshore Line.

GrumpyGoomba9 is the mayor of Bechtel. The town is twinned with Peaslake (EN11)

Bechtel is designed to promote many forms of transportation. A majority of roads also have an adjacent cycle path (red concrete) and footpaths (gravel)

All roads are LEFT HAND DRIVE. This also applies to cycle paths. Roundabouts and mini-roundabouts are used commonly, as well as more traditional signal-controlled junctions. A large intersection with the A980 within Bechtel facilitates the transfer of the LHD traffic to RHD traffic. The Bechtel Circle forms a ring around the MRT station in the Central district.

Bechtel Summit Station is the major transport hub, and has been designated as the hub station for GoombaRail. Future plans are in the works to construct warp rail lines around the North West of the MRT map. Additionally, Bechtel Summit station will be incorporated into a large megastation on the future metro, alongside the MRT station.

Trivia - the name Bechtel comes from the Summit Bechtel Reserve in West Virginia, USA, which was the site of the 2019 World Scout Jamboree (which GrumpyGoomba9 was an attendee of.) This is referenced in other parts of the city, for example Bechtel Summit station, Jamboree Ave and Jack Furst Drive (which is the name of one of the major roads at the site.)
