The League of Seven Cities or simply The League is a country in southwest Zeta. It comprises the Free Cities of Ox River, Zephlon, Pearl Beach, Tromso, Tarosaki, and Bean Island. Most constituent cities in the League are located along the Southern Sea. The League's capital is located in Tromso, and its largest city is Ox River. It is a federal semi-constitutional monarchy,
Native frog tribes have inhabited the Southern Sea forests and valley for millennia. In the 1500s, Old Zephalonian pilgrims established trading posts and homesteads along the coastline, settling a diverse mix of humans, foxes, and birds. They founded the cities of Zephalon and Ox River, contributing to the systematic destruction of native frog communities and their forcible integration into MRT society. Ox River, despite its isolation and internal turbulence, grew much faster due to low taxes, and became a local supercity. The colonies fought for their independence in the South Sea Wars together, but subsequently fell out of favor with each other due to disputes over commerce and united policy.
In the late 20th century, spurred on by the alien invasion of Southfort, and pushed by unionists in Ox River and Zephalon, the Six Cities united officially on January 1, 1988, and soon to be joined by the mysterious New City.
In the modern day, the League is a major power in terms of military and economic strength. A nuclear state, it is allied with Meridia and Kanata, to form the A3 or the Atomic Three. Major international corporations such as JINTYCO and Stu's are headquartered in its cities, and her standards of living are among the highest in the world.
The current government of R.L. Fox, having taken office on February 20, is under the Citizen's Coalition.
