MRT Olympic Committee

The MRT Olympic Committee was founded on December 1st, 2013 and is based in Inchmuir. It was founded after people on the MRT were talking about who should host the 2024 Olympics. Then that sparked the idea of an MRT Olympics every three months. Then the MRT Olympic Committee was formed by BaronThamesBank, Skelezomperman, bspells and Kiwirainbow.

City Selection Process

On the first weekend of the month before the olympics, the committee will select 4 nominations of cities from players on the server. Then the committee will vote in 3 rounds. What ever city gets the most votes will host the olympics for the next month. A city cannot host twice in one year. Once the city has been picked, they must build/renovate/have the following things:

  • A Track
  • An Arena
  • A Field
  • A Medium Body of Water

Sports

The MRT Olympics has 5 sports: Running, PvP, American Football, Boat Racing, and Swimming. Each sport is officiated by a different member of the committee.


Dates

  • The first MRT Olympics (meant to be hosted by Inchmuir) will occur from January 31st-Feburary 2nd. However, due to Thomasfyfe being on vacation, the olympics had to be quickly moved to Robin's Hill. Inchmuir will be granted the April Olympics, and Robin's Hill will be ineligible for bidding for that olympics. The Old bid's will be moved to the July Olympics.
  • The second MRT Olympics will be hosted by Inchmuir, and will occur from April 25th-27th.
  • The third MRT Olympics (with bids from Bluemont, Minetown, Crystal City, and Zicronia) will occur on July 25th-27th.

  • 5:00pm EST- MRT Olympics I come to a closure in Robin's Hill, with many people looking forward to MRT Olympics II in Inchmuir, after a successful games in Robin's Hill.
  • 3:15pm EST- Gogojakeo and Ireland take home gold in PvP, while Bryce_am and Croatia take home silver, with Music3_0 and Madagascar winning Bronze.
  • 1:30pm EST- Just_Robinho and Great Britain take home gold, while Kittycat11231 and India take home Silver.
  • 1:30pm EST- Hungary takes home Bronze in track. After a problem in determining first place, Great Britain and India will rematch for first place.
  • 11:35am EST- India defeats Japan 13-12 in the Gold Medal Match, rocketing India to first place.
  • 11:30am EST- Japan leads India 12-6 at halftime in the Gold Medal Match.
  • 11:15am EST- Japan will play India in the American Football Gold Medal Match, while Sri Lanka will play Australia in the bronze medal Match.
