MRTvoyage/Getting Around

The server's world is huge, and at an incredible size of 60 thousand by 60 thousand blocks, it's easy to get lost. Fortunately, this guide will help you to find where you are, as well as to navigate and travel around the world!

How do I know where I am?

The Dynmap

You can use the Dynmap (short form of Dynamic Map), a useful website that allows you to see your location in the map, along with the MRT lines, air facilities, and intercity highways! However, the Dynmap does not allow you to see warp rail lines and local metro lines for example. The Dynmap also cannot find directions from one place to another.

The Dynmap will show your location by showing your Minecraft username on the map. You can also see the locations of anyone currently online in the server.

Why is the Dynmap constantly crashing/refreshing?

It is a known bug that is caused when the server restarts, simply press Shift + F5 to clear your browser's cache.

How do I get from one town/city to another?

By MRT

Chances are that your city is located along a MRT (Minecart Rapid Transit) line. Hence, you can find where your city is simply by finding the station that serves the city (by looking at the Dynmap or at the wiki) and figure out which lines to take. It may not be the fastest (in fact it is very slow) but it is free and the easiest to figure out.

How do I ride the MRT?

Firstly, find the departure bay. It looks like a 3x3 wall with a hole inside, containing a minecart.

To ensure that you are heading in the right direction, there should be signs on or around it about information on what line it serves and the direction it is heading. You can know which direction to go to by looking on the Dynmap. There is also an automated message that will appear in the chat on what station and line you are in, as well as possible transfers to other MRT lines when you enter the station grounds.

The message will be formatted like this:

<[Station Number]> [Station Name] - Transfer for [Possible Transfers]

Using  Z0  Central Park as an example, it will look like this:

<Z0> Central Park - Transfer for Expo Line

Secondly, simply ride the minecart (by right clicking it) as you normally would and it will automatically depart it, taking you to the next stop.

Once you have reached the next stop there will be a sign containing the station name and possible transfers. you can disembark it (by clicking shift) and get out of the door or wait for it to automatically depart. It will do so after a chime. If you do not want to wait, you can click the button located next to the sign. It will instantly depart your minecart.

I don't see a minecart in the departure bay!

Click the button on the right to call a minecart.

I can't call a minecart!

Check if the station has a supply of minecarts by the redstone lamps to the right of the departure bay. If all of the lights do not light up, it is a sign that the refill track in charge of refilling minecarts is empty, so follow the instructions at the section below.

The station's ran out of minecarts!

Ask a person with a Member role or higher to help you refill the station. If the station still isn't working, contact a staff member.[1]

The station is broken! (not related to running out of minecarts)

If a block is missing (for example a rail, redstone components or string) or the arrival bay is broken, contact a staff member.[1]

I'm stuck in between/at stations!

If you are stuck in between stations, head in the direction of where you were going to, and find an iron door to enter the station. In the station, find an exit by a ladder or an iron door. If you are still having difficulties exiting the station, feel free to kindly ask another player or staff member on assistance.[1]

By Air

Some cities also have an airport, airfield, heliport, or a seaport. You can find them by looking at the Dynmap. It may not show up at first as you need to enable them by going into the layers tab (it is at the top left hand corner below the + and the - ) and then selecting the "Air Facilities" option.

To find the flight and the gate you need to take to get to your destination, you can visit the airport's wiki page, and scroll until you find a flight which takes you to the airport you want to go to. Then, head to the the flight's gate. There should be lots of signs that tell you on where to go from the airport's entrance. If you can't find a flight that directly takes you to the airport, another way is to visit the wiki page for both of the airports and find a common airport that a flight from both of the airports serve.

How do I ride on an aircraft?

Airports in the server work similarly to that of their real life counterparts, connecting other airports via aircraft. However, the way that aircraft work in this server are by using warp signs. To travel to your destination, simply walk into the airplane and find a warp sign. They are usually located in the front of the aircraft (though at times they will be at the back of it) and contain [Warp]. Most airlines will also indicate the destination of the plane as well as the flight number. Once you have found the warp sign with the destination that you want to go to, simply right click on it.

By Sea

Some cities have a port. Unfortunately, you cannot find ports on the Dynmap.

To find the ship and the gate you need to take to get to your destination, you can visit the port's wiki page, and scroll until you find a ship which takes you to the city you want to go to. Then, head to the the ship's gate. There should be lots of signs that tell you on where to go from the port entrance. If you can't find a flight that directly takes you to the port, another way is to visit the wiki page for both of the ports and find a common airport that a flight from both of the port serve.

How do I ride on a ship?

Like airports, ports in the server work similarly to that of their real life counterparts, connecting other ports via ships. However, they also work by utilising warp signs. To travel to your destination, simply walk into the ship and find a warp sign. They are usually located infront of the entrance of the ship and contain [Warp] however at times you may need to walk around the ship to find the warp sign. Most companies will also indicate the destination of the plane as well as the flight number. Once you have found the warp sign with the destination that you want to go to, simply right click on it.

By Road

Some cities will be connected to other cities via a highway. You can find National (A) and Local (B) roads in the Dynmap. It will not show up at first so you need to enable them by going into the layers tab (it is at the top left hand corner below the + and the - ) and then selecting both the "National (A) Roads" and "Local (B) Roads" options. However, you cannot find other intercity roads that do not fall into the National (A) or Local (B) roads on the Dynmap by using the layers, but u can spot their presence on it.

There are no cars in the server, however there are horses that can go fast (called Fast Bois). Although being a rank lower than Trustee means that you are not allowed to spawn mobs, you can still find plenty of those horses dispersed across cities.

Along the highway there would be signs that tell you the towns you are heading towards and which lanes to go to.

By Warp Train

Some cities are served by a warp train. Unfortunately, you cannot find warp train stations and lines on the Dynmap. You can however find a map of each companies' warp train network on their wiki page. However, this method of transporting may be troublesome. Along with the fact that there are plenty of maps for each companies' warp train network, changing between companies usually needs a long walk and it is the most expensive way of transport.

How do I ride on a warp train?

Like airplanes and ships, warp trains in the server work similarly to that of their real life counterparts, stopping at train stations. However, they also work by utilising warp signs. To travel to your destination, simply walk into the warp train and find a warp sign. They are usually located infront of the entrance of the warp train and contain [Warp]. However, sometimes they are located at the either ends of the train. Once you have found the warp sign with the destination that you want to go to, simply right click on it.

I can't warp!

If you see a message in chat telling you that you have not enough money, it is due to the fact that warps cost $0.10 per use. However do not worry much as you get $0.05 every minute that you are not AFK on the server.

How else can I figure out the directions from one town/city to another other than the wiki?

You can use third-party websites like MRT RapidRoute, which allow you to find directions from one city to another using all types of transportation.
