New Bakersville City, formerly known as the Colony of Hamilton, or simply Hamilton, is a city in the North East corner of the New World within Gamma territory
History
Colonization
Originally, New Bakersville was colonized under the name Hamilton, the same name as the original governor of the land. It was claimed in 1764 due to the shortage of industrial land in Bakersville. After a decade, the size and population expanded rapidly due to the demand of workers in farms and at the harbor, where trade with major cities often occurred.
Revolution
Around 1786, strict laws on trading began to come into affect, such as expensive tariffs from the government of Bakersville. Many citizens saw this as a way for the government to make a large profit, due to Bakersville's low income, and were not pleased. As a result, Bakersville began to pass more and more laws to prevent a revolution from happening. Soon, a majority of the city became militarized and was on heavy guard. Soon, an underground militia formed and lead the first battle in the revolution, located on Booth Hill.
Battle of Booth Hill
On February 14, 1887, during a winter storm, the New Bakersville Militia lead an attack on a Bakersville Outpost located on Booth Hill. The battle lasted three hours and ended with over 1,200 casualties.
