Ravenswood is a city originally created by _frozen. Ravenswood is located directly south of Audenville (R13) and Northwest of Shadow Rock (B22). Its city neighbors are Cyra to the immediate north and MegaTown to the immediate south. Ravenswood's current mayor is _frozen. Ravenswood also serves as the home to many corporation and businesses such as Pacifica Transit Authority, Raven Holdings, Incorporated and Pacifica Construction Company. The Ravenswood City Council is also responsible for the day-to-day operation of another community, Pecos.

City News

  • October 5, 2013: Ravenswood's first City Hall in the Murtagh Building was created, signaling its journey toward cityhood.
  • October 10, 2013: First road link to a city outside the city limits opens, with the Mega-Ravenswood Tunnel (Highway 83) serving travellers between MegaTown and Ravenswood.
  • October 24, 2013: Pacifica Transit, Ravenswood's first corporation, is formed. Their headquarters are located above Ravenswood Central Station on the 3rd-5th floors.
  • October 26, 2013: Ravenswood Hotel & Convention Center is one of the two original MRT Sumotori Association venues (The other being Splurgeville Sumotori Centre (near B29 Cactusville))
  • October 26, 2013: Construction on the 5th Building (The Permanent City Hall) began.
  • October 26, 2013: First Ravenswood Franchise located outside Ravenswood opens. General Stores, Inc. opens a general store at Arlington.
  • November 3, 2013: 10th Building is completed, making Ravenswood eligible for city status. City Hall is also completed, and Murtagh Building is put up for sale. Three franchises has locations within Ravenswood: Beef Hut, Creeper's Cottage Cookout, and Matt's Fast Food.
  • November 4, 2013: Ravenswood was officially recognized as a city on the MRT Server.
  • November 7, 2013: Ravenswood Parkway (Route 39), a link between Ravenswood and I-1 opens; Dave's Doughnuts opens a franchise in Ravenswood.
  • November 24, 2013: Ravenswood University is now being constructed; with RU Redstone Labs open.
  • November 25, 2013: Arrowhead Line opens between Arlington and Ravenswood, providing Ravenswood residents with a one-seat ride to SCTC and Inchmuir.
  • November 27, 2013: Construction of the Residential District commences with assistance from Cyra (Extension of City Hall Dr. to Bremen Avenue), and Norfolk Street renamed Bremen Avenue.
  • November 27, 2013: New Street Signage Project installed and completed in Ravenswood.
  • November 27, 2013: Project Postal begins. Projection completion: Spring 2013.
  • November 29, 2013: Horse Parking opens their Ravenswood location under the new Norfolk Hall, Ravenswood University's first dorms in Ravenswood. It is accessible from Ravenswood Parkway between Bremen Avenue and Grand Avenue Southbound.
  • November 30, 2013: Transportation Updates: Residential District streets completed. New streets include Bremen Avenue, Norfolk Street, Virginia Avenue, Carso Pond Road, and Cyra Drive. Industrial District Project is also in process, with a new Churchill Avenue bridge over the Johnson River. Churchill Avenue will curve northwards to meet Grand Avenue at the city limits.
  • November 30, 2013: City Updates: Ravenswood formally annexes the land surrounding the intersection of Interstate 1 and Ravenswood Parkway, and incorporates the land as the farming hamlet of Pecos. Pecos is a town focused on the agricultural talents obtained from graduates of Ravenswood University.
  • December 1, 2013: City Updates: Residential District project has been completed, with total leveling and reforestation of the area within Bremen Avenue. Residential Plots will be opened as time goes by, with selected people invited to build their domicile. Ravenswood increased its land area by 500% by expanding its original boundaries deep into the natural preserves surrounding the town to ensure they will never be touched while Ravenswood exists on the map. The boundary markers are made of pink stained clay blocks with a torch on top of it. The boundary is best viewed at night.
  • December 1, 2013: Corporation Updates: Raven Land Holdings, Incorporated diversified their business model and renamed itself Raven Holdings. It now has operations in the field of retail, food shopping, and contract mail services on top of their previous business of land speculation. Raven Holdings has purchased 3 East Churchill Avenue to be used as the main headquarters.
  • December 22, 2013: Hollis Swamps, with wilywonker, has graciously donated the old amphitheatre to be moved to Ravenswood. The Riverwalk District is now known as the River Theatre District, where resturants and shoppes will work in harmony with the new old outdoor theatre.
  • January 2, 2014: Tundra Coffee and Miss Italadz57's Floral Shop opens in the Adidas Buildings, with a cafe coming soon. This joins Bluetech and Welcome99's Cafe as recently-built shops at Ravenswood.

City Rules

  • The City Boundary is marked at locations by stained pink clay pillars; however, this is not the final boundary. The City Council reserves the right to change the boundary without prior notification.
  • Any and all builds must be approved by the mayor. The deputy mayor can only approve builds if the mayor has not shown up on the server for more than 72 hours.
  • The Jungle between Ravenswood and Megatown is a natural preserve. No construction may occur in the area directly between Megatown and Ravenswood.
  • Ravenswood is considered a private built city for the time being. Land parcels will be split up and sold by Raven Land Holdings in the not-too-distant future for anyone to purchase.
  • Any non-Ravenswood-based Corporation or office presences must be approved before relocating to Ravenswood. Applications can be sent in at City Hall; drop a book with your company name, owner of company, purpose of business, and potential location.
  • Any buildings built inside Ravenswood City Limits must adhere to the height limit. At this time, the height limit is defined as the tallest point of the Bank of Ravenswood Tower, at 110 meters from sea level. (y-level:110)
  • Any buildings built inside Ravenswood City Limits after December 1, 2013 must have an allowance for mail services, be it inside the building or outside the building.

Transportation

Ravenswood is served by two route corridors-- Route 83, also known as Ravenswood Avenue in Cyra / Grand Avenue in Ravenswood. Route 83 is a state route that provides access between Ravenswood and I-3 through Cyra, and Grand Avenue continues south into Megatown.. Ravenswood Parkway (State Route 39) is a parkway through the northern edge of Ravenswood-Megatown Jungle Preserve, and provides access to the I-1 tollway. Bus Service on Route 83 will be provided by the new bus hub being built at the Ravenswood Central Station. A map of those important road corridors and secondary roads is currently being designed by Rand McNerdly Co. and will be released in the near future.

Ravenswood Central

Currently under a perpeutal state of construction, Ravenswood Central Station is a new station and hub for Pacifica Transit lines. Arrowhead Line provides direct service to the Spawn City Transit Center via Inchmuir, and to four MRT Terminus in the future via the Archer Line. Archer Line uses Ravenswood Central as its central point in its arc from the North Central to the South Central. Ravenswood Central also serves as the eastern terminus of the MegaLine A Line.

Concourse A will be home to 4 express/local lines (including Arrowhead, Archer, and Javelin Lines), and 5 east/west terminus stations.

Corporation Headquarters & Presence

Ravenswood is currently home to three corporations -- Pacifica Transit Authority, the new transit authority servicing the Eastern section; Pacifica Construction Company, a sister corporation of Pacifica Transit Authority focused on the construction, design, and sales of Pacifica Transit Authority Launcher and Tunnel Systems; Raven Holdings, Incorporated, a company with diversified focuses on the fields of land speculation, retail, food services, and contract mail services. Ravenswood expects more corporations to set up their presence or even headquarters within the city limits in the near future.

Major Attractions

  • Ravenswood Hotel & Convention Center has a sumotori arena set up in their convention center in the basement. The next GSA Tournament will be held at this venue, affectionately nicknamed "The Halfpipe" due to its seating and arena arrangements.
  • Bank of Ravenswood Tower: The tallest building in the city limits allowed. A 2013 charter passed by the town council has deemed that any buildings built after November 1, 2013 must remain a tile beneath the Bank of Ravenswood's tallest point to preserve the town feel and withdraw from the tallest building competition.
  • Ravenswood River Theatre District is a small boutique mall along the Johnson River focused on the small kitschy businesses, with the Old Hollis Amphitheater showing outdoors performing arts and movies across the river. The Old Hollis Amphitheater is also home to the Ravenswood University Drama Program.
  • Riverview Park is a upcoming park dedicated to the nature of the Johnson River.
  • MegaTown-Ravenswood Jungle Natural Preserve is a corridor of jungle between the two cities that has been set aside as an natural preserve for future generations to enjoy.
  • Ravenswood University is a small Ivy-League University with its main campus located in central Ravenswood with several annexes and buildings scattered around the city.
  • Tourists to Ravenswood has told of a strong and distinct smell of bacon in the city.
