The MRT Soccer Association, also commonly known as MRTSA, is the MRT's prominent rules for the sport Association Football after the abolishment of the uCars plugin in 2020. Unlike the MRT Football Association, this involves inventory drops, not physical entities.

History

The MRTSA (MRT Soccer Association) was founded in late 2017 by frogggggg as a new way to play Soccer in Minecraft. Notably, it has been used in the 2018, 2019, and 2020 MRT Winter Games, and the 2020 MRT World Cup.

Rules

 1. The away team always starts with the ball. The ball is a snowball. You will have an Official MRTSA Sword, which you can pick up by asking frogggggg, or getting one before a MRTSA tournament.. You need to hit the player with the sword and kill them to obtain the ball or hit them out of play to get a throw in or goal kick. Once you have the ball, you have to run to the other side.
 2. To score, you must throw the ball past the goalkeeper/player in to the goal. The player may hit you aswell. To regain possession, kill the opposition player whom has the ball and take it and run. You may also hit them out of play and take the throw in.
 3. If you don't want a free kick or penalty to occur, listen to the rules and the referee may call a free kick or penalty at any time due to misconduct.
 4. If a player throws or runs out of play, (past the sideline), It will be a throw in for the opposition. To make a throw, simply throw the ball back in to play and quickly pick it back up and run. The opposition may try to steal your throw in after you have taken it.
 5. A yellow or red card may be allocated at any time from the referee. Hitting the referee on purpose is an automatic red card. Remember, the referee's decision is final however you may come back to this page to revise/tell them what you think is wrong with their decision and the rules. In televised games, you may use VAR to check whether the call should count or not.
 6. Do not wear any other armor other than leather with your team color. Also, each match is 5 minutes long. After 2.5 (may be changed depending on the league) minutes and half time, you switch sides.
6.1 The league specified may change the rules slightly in time of the game and what you need to wear however swords stay the same.
 7. When scoring, the ball must 'completely' cross the line and go into the net. If the goal does not have a block between the line and the net in the back, it must be made of cobwebs and the ball must go completely inside of the cobweb (the front also counts) to score.

7.1 The line is 1 meter thick and the goal posts must be on that line. The back netting may be cobwebs or iron bars. The posts may be any block that blocks cannot travel through.
7.2 Minimum goal size: 3x3 opening. Maximum goal size: 5x4.
 8. Important: At the center of the pitch (outside the field of play) you need to have two beds next to each other so the players may set their bed spawn; if they die they will go back to this bed and then be allowed to get back on and play right away.
 9. Field size minimum is 35 long by 25 wide, however for local tournaments this can change, but for international tournaments officially endorsed by MRTSA this is the minimum size.
