The 49 Clues was a planned activity run by CaptLincoln where players must find a series of 49 clues scattered around the server. Each clue is a riddle that must be figured out to be the guide to the next clue. At each clue, there is also a chest where a book is hidden. Whoever is able to get the most of these books will be in possession of a great advantage.

THE GOAL AND HOW TO GET IT

The goal of the game is simple: get to the 50th clue. The game is called 49 clues because there are 49 clues leading up to the 50th clue. Each clue is a riddle. While a simple riddle, you cannot simply take the clue and walk out. The riddle contains the location of the next clue. Now these riddles could either be extremely obvious, or extremely difficult. There are also the fabled, "Not-A-Clue Books", which contain the answer to the next clue, essentially giving you a free pass. However, for these books to be utilized, you must shout out that you are using the book. The game moderator will teleport to you and take the book, marking it so that they know you used it. There is only one book per clue, so find it and use it! The first team to reach the mat at clue 50 will win the game. The prize varies from game to game, so don't expect to always win a million moneyz. This game is done in teams of two, so find a partner and let's get puzzling!

RULES

The Basics

1. Flying, Teleporting, Horses, and Potions are prohibited. Use of these will disqualify you.
2. Warps, MRT lines, Minecart Metro Lines, and UCars are permitted, although we highly discourage the use of the latter.
3. This game is conducted in Survival Mode.
4. You are permitted 2 weapons, a full set of un-enchanted iron armor, food, and a map.
5. This game, while violent, does not look the other way if you eat a golden apple.

The Violence Clause

This game is violent in every way. You will be shot at, butchered, murdered, and stabbed a lot. Get over it now. The point of the game is to win, so if you don't think you can fight, best to stay out of it and spectate. We highly encourage melee combat, as it is kind of pitiful if you just snipe.

Checkpoints

There are 4 checkpoints in the game, one every 10 clues. These checkpoints are patrolled by a game moderator, who you may teleport to if you pass that checkpoint and have died or gotten lost. This means that if you were killed early in the game, you will not be continuing on.

How We Keep Track

The last item you are allowed to have are what we call the "Clue Markers". Next to the clue is a chest and an anvil. This is the only time you may not attack someone, when they are at the clue. You must take a marker inside and name it your team name. This way, we know no one has skipped any clues and that you aren't cheating.
