Nexus is a minigame started by RLcrafters. The objective of the game is to invade the other team's area and break their Nexus (Netherrack) a certain number of times. Whilst at the same time defending their Nexus from invaders. The first person to break the other team's nexus this set amount of time, will be declared winner. The idea came from a server that has now closed.

Game Mechanics

Teams must play in survival and can use any material or item that they find in the map to build defenses, shelters and bases, they can also use these same materials to craft items to help the team. Blocks that are found in EVERY nexus map are: iron, diamonds, and some kind of solid building block (Like wood, stone or clay)

When players spawn, they shall be given several items for free, like basic colored armor and a head block to denote your team. As well as a sword, some food, and some starter materials (In most cases wood), a bow or some other throwable/shootable item and a pick. The game can go on for an infinite amount of time.

Players are allowed to shoot each other using bows and can also throw potions that come with certain player classes.

Classes

Soldier

The basic class

Sniper

Basic class with a weaker sword but much more powerful bow

Heavy

Class with stronger armor, explosives (possibly), and the most powerful sword

Paratrooper

Class with slightly stronger sword but much weaker bow but has the advantage of being dropped into the battlefield. But has a much longer spawn time

Engineer

Basic class but with more tools (like an axe or shovel) and many more starting materials, also has access to heavy duty shield materials (One use only)

Maps

Currently, the game is being developed and the first map created in the Games World. If you wish to make a map for the game, please contact me (RL) when you have completed your map.

Map Creation Rules

If you wish to create a map for the game you must read these rules thoroughly:

  • The map must contain Iron and Diamond blocks somewhere in the map and there must be a supply for both teams (and they must be roughly balanced in quantity) You can also scatter the blocks below the surface.
  • The map must be a maximum of 150 by 150 blocks but can be as high as the builder wants
  • The map must contain the players so they cannot escape (Recommended blocks are barrier blocks or bedrock)
  • The map must contain 2 Nexus' (One per team) surrounded by bedrock on the floor and on a pillar (The elevation of the Nexus is not fixed and can be anywhere, as long as it is inside the map border)
  • The Nexus of each team must be located (relatively) near the spawn point of that team (Again elevation of said Nexus is not restricted)
  • The spawn point of each team can be at any elevation, however if the map is elevated then it must be high enough to ensure players die if they fall
