The Outer Ring Road is a loop freeway around Wurst.

History

February 9th, 2021 - First freeway in the city

On the second day membership was attained, Wurst was quickly established and a ring road around the city was built. It was called the Inner Ring Road, or the 1st Ring Road.

March 2021 - Westway

The Westway was planned as a spur route of the Inner Ring Road. This is to be a part of the current Outer Ring Road.

August 2021 - Widening

A new road standard was adopted. All traffic lanes will be reduced from 5 blocks wide to 3 blocks wide. The entirety of the Inner Ring Road is hence widened to two lanes per direction.

November 2021 - Construction started

At that time, the Inner Ring Road and the Outer Ring Road were two separate roads (This detail is important when you read onwards). A second ring road was proposed to connect the city to the A980, and to the southern suburbs. The junction between Goa Way (F2) and the Outer Ring Road was completed in December 2021.

February 2022 - Removal of the Inner Ring Road

In February 2022, Wurst was asking for councillor endorsements. One staff member pointed out that the roads are too ridiculous and didn’t saw much potential for the city. As a direct consequence, the eastern and the southern flanks of the Inner Ring Road was demolished, while the western flanks and the northern flanks are kept. Meanwhile, both carriageways of the built Outer Ring Road will be marked as the same direction. It was soon decided that the western flank of the Inner Ring Road will be repurposed as the clockwise lanes of the Outer Ring Road. Further details can be seen on B991.

April 2022 - Comprehensive freeway plan

A comprehensive freeway plan around the entire city was published. This plan is vital to future highway projects, as most, if not all roads proposed in the plan are built.
