Rosetown is a Mayor town founded and owned by RainbowSlimee.

Boroughs

Willoweep

Willoweep is a bit of a green lung for Rosetown. It is filled with recreational spaces and colourful low-density housing. It also has a lot of trees, making it the only carbon-neutral district of the town. Despite its "low-key" kind of feel, it has the town hall of the city.

Heaton

Heaton is currently the largest and most important borough of the bunch, as it has the heliport, the largest population of all boroughs in Rosetown and overall a densely-packed build style.

Old Town

Old Town includes the 1600s-style city and the even older village of Micelbrim. The 2 locations both have colourful and comfortable housing, with the city having many interesting landmarks.

Major Roads

Motor Avenue

Motor Avenue was and still is the most important road in Rosetown. Next to it are a whopping 8 buildings including the mayor building.

Swamp Road

This road is less important than the previous, however, it still fills the needed role of connecting South Swamp tram station with the Old Town.

Village Way

Village Way sprouts out of the middle of West Drive and slithers around the far reaches of the town. It meets paths with Central Cross and Color Street until ending in the High Roundabout.

Lore

All of this is fiction and should not be taken seriously.

The first settlement near modern-day Rosetown occurred in 1368 when a shepherd started the town of Micelbrim (Bigwater in Old English). The town lasted about 81 years, as in 1263 Prince Andrew the Mighty claimed the city as his own and thus started the Micel Dynasty. This was also when what is now Old Town was created. The dynasty lasted for 450 years before officially dissolving, as the last emperor could not produce an heir. Because of this, the town had no central government and thus, went into ruin. Quickly, though suddenly, the Caravaca Republic just north claimed Rosetown as an autonomous territory in 1714. This reign lasted for 98 years, until in 1812, Caravaca decided that Rosetown had enough autonomy to split from them.

Despite this newly found freedom, Rosetown yet again fell into ruin in 1817, after a cave explosion in Micelbrim destroyed 8 buildings around it, polluted the nearby water supply and killed 59 people. Due to this disaster, Rosetown decided to put itself up for an autonomous takeover[1] in 1818 and eventually gave control to The Empire of Nuuk. This takeover lasted for 20 years, until in 1838, Rosetown regained independence and vowed to architecturally improve. They took advantage of the forests east of them and started selling timber for money. This dramatically increased their revenue, letting them construct more buildings and making their quality of life the best in their area. This spike in revenue was called "The Wooden Craze", and it lasted for 12 years, until 1851.

Once this amazing rush of money came to an end, life was mostly peaceful. The employment rate was ~ 92% and their GDP per capita was at the top 0.1% of towns. This time of peace lasted for 42 years, until 1893 when a broken furnace inside of a bakery exploded, thus setting off a chain reaction that eventually killed 4000 people and injured 12000. Even worse, injuries could not be treated inside of the Rosetown Northern Health Fort, since the capacity of it was just 1500 people at maximum. Thus, 3000 people succumbed to their wounds and died, while the remaining 7500 people were moved into other, larger hospitals, like Caravaca, Nuuk, Prismarine and Lifebush. only 7% came back to Rosetown, while the rest stayed in the towns that treated them and never came again. This created a lowered workforce, that would be named "The Wilting of the Rose", as it meant almost certain death for the city.

Despite this, major reforms made by King Simon of Prismarine between the years 1895 and 1902 saved the city from what seemed to be an inevitable end. He was hailed for his works and is one of the most important figures of Rosetown. After he died in 1942, a democratic system was formed in the town. The first resigned after 68 days, another died due to a vending machine accident, and the third destroyed the whole town's economy due to his incompetence. This recession was dubbed "The Modern Depression". He luckily resigned in 1962, but his terrible economic choices echoed until the late 80s. During this time, the late architect Jan Wiktor Ruta started designing loads of new and interesting landmarks, becoming a bit of an icon around the town. He is also a major figure in Rosetown's culture, being a sort of "Banksy", his identity secret, but yet his legacy, not forgotten

As they were building new constructions around Willoweep, plans for an urban district were brought up as long back as 1968. However, due to budget cuts attributed to the Rosetown recession, construction didn't start until 1998. As construction started, biking paths were implemented around 2003. Multiple landmarks were proposed and rejected for this new district. His son, in an interview with MBS, even called them "Jannabies" (ooh, burn :o), as they were trying to emulate Jan Wiktor's ability to make sublime monuments. Eventually, with votes of 42% and 39% respectively, statues of Jan Wiktor Ruta, and King Andrzej were put onto the landscape of the under-construction borough. Finally, after a 12-year wait, the first residential blocks were opened for consumer use in December 2010, with commercial spots being opened in February 2011. The new district, with a vote of 54% by the public, was named Heaton.

Trivia

  • The architect who "designed" multiple landmarks of Rosetown, Jan Wiktor Ruta, is based on Slimey's real-life name.
  1. As in: letting another town take over certain parts of a republic in exchange for a large sum of money.
